It's Thursday so that means another cute card featuring the images from Digital Delights
This week I decided to use one of the latest Wild West images and went with the cutie called Lil Dixie
Card Recipe:
Image - Lil Dixie
Sentiment - Wild West Sentiments
Medium - Copic Markers
Paper - Denim Paper Pizazz and Plaid K and Co
Oval Punch - Family Treasure
Grass Die Cut - Cheery Lynn Designs
Embossing Folder - Paisley by Cuttlebug
Usually with the sitting images I like to draw in a wall to ground them but as Dixie is a Cowgirl I decided this time to draw in a fence.
I hope you like her and be sure to drop by the Digital Delights blog to check out all the other fabulous cards today.
It's time for a new recipe at my Cooking It Up With Katie challenge blog.
Each week we bring you 3 "ingredients" to help you create something wonderful!

I had to make my Union Jacks by hand as living in the US I didn't get the opportunity to shop for my Homeland products.
But the image was easy to obtain, don't you just love that about Digital Stamps!
Now it's over to you to go and create and come back and share with us at Cooking It Up With Katie
Happy Memorial Day to all my US friends!
A couple of weeks ago I was one of the winners at Tammy's Scrapin Corner and they asked me if I would like to do a Guest Designer spot for them. Well of course I said yes, any excuse to color!, and today that spot is here!
It's a super easy challenge, any image by any artist so that means "Anything Goes!"
Card Recipe:
Image - Lili of the Valley
Medium - Copic Markers
Paper and Border - Martha Stewart
Doily Die - English Tea Party by Cheery Lynn Designs

The non-square cards are always a challenge for me but with the use of a couple a dies and a simple fold I really like how this one turned out.
So now it's time for you to create and share with us at Tammy's Scrapin Corner

It's time for another Gem of A Challenge featuring the fabulous designs from Janet at Pink Gem Designs
We have a wonderful photo for your inspirations with Yellow Daisies, Blue Skies and Butterflies!
This is my second Easel Card this week, I haven't done one in a while and I forgot how much I loved the extra space to create.
This little Jodie was just perfect for the theme and the papers worked really well too.
I hope you like this and please drop by Gem of A Challenge to play along with us

Card Recipe:
Image - Springtime Lara
Medium - Copic Markers
Paper and Sentiment - The Spring Stack
Pearls - The Paper Studio
Ribbon - Michaels
Buckle - Making Memories
Flowers - Recollections
Leaf Die - Sizzix
I decided to go with an easel fold as the sketch worked really well but I wanted a large sentiment that matched the paper collection and so an easel was perfect for that.
This little Springtime ladybug is so adorable and she was really great to color.
Make sure you check out the Digital Delights blog to see all the other fabulous samples from the team this week.

I been admiring the fabulous cards on other blogs created with the gorgeous images from Saturated Canary but I hadn't taken the plunge as I was a little intimidated by the wonderful work I'd already seen. But when Krista opened her new store and offer a discount I decided to drop a few in my cart just to try them ;)
This is my very first attempt and I had to use my cheapo cardstock as at the moment my printer does not like the X-Press It and I haven't managed to coax it to print on it yet.
I loved the hair on this cutie so chose her as my first.
Challenges: Bunny Zoes - Anything Goes Just Keep on Creating - Anything Goes One Stitch at A Time - Anything Goes Bearly Mine - Anything Goes (2 entries only) Saturated Canary - Flowers The Hybrid Chic - Flowers Ribbon Carousel - Flowers and something Spooled (the lace) Karen's Doodles - Stitching (I chose faux) Always Crafting - Stitching The Shabby Tearoom - Garden Party (Pink, Green and Dimensional Flower) Creative Card Crew - Dimension (3 entries only) Going Grey - Bingo! (I chose Flowers, Die Cut, Digi) (2 entries only) Sassy Cheryls - Fave Color Combo (I love Pink and Green together)
Card Recipe:
Image - Cerridwen by Saturated Canary
Medium - Copic Markers
Paper - French Country Stack by DCWV
Sentiment - Heidi Grace
Butterfly - Prima
Flowers - Recollections
Swirl Die - Quickutz
Lace - Wrights
Pearls - Recollections
Now you seasoned Saturated Canary lovers will see the glaring error I made in the coloring a certain part of the image but I didn't realize until lots of color was there and so I just had to go with it. Please forgive my innocent mistake :)
I loved her and can't wait to color her again with my real cardstock once I get my printer issue fixed.
Have a wonderful day!
Katie
Woo Hoo it's time for a new challenge at the Magnolia-licious Challenge!
We have a photo to inspire you, it's a beautiful makeup box full of many hues. My first thoughts were the jewel tones but the more I looked at the photo the more I kept coming back to Girlie and so I went with that theme for my card.
Now I know I have been going on and on about the Copic Intermediate class I took last weekend but it was so wonderful, fabulous teachers, a great group of ladies and I got to spend the day with a wonderful blogging friend Barb Hardeman from Stampelicious!. Oh my did we have a blast, it was the first time we had met (didn't even know she was going to be there) but it was like meeting an old friend! And Debbie from Plano was added to the mix as a new friend and we just had the best time.
Now the class was so inspiring and so on Sunday morning I couldn't wait to start coloring and trying out my new found skills and my goodness how I loved the results, it may sound silly but I had tears in my eyes and kept saying to myself "you see, you can do it, you can color like the others out there", see I'm just a big sap :)
But anyway I hope you can see the differences and to all the ladies out there that have taken the Intermediate class you'll know what I mean when I say I used the "secret scary color" in my skin coloring ;)
This gorgeous little Tilda is called "Summer Flower" but it seems like Diana is out of stock of them at the moment but she has lots of the other cuties from the Summer Memories Collection 2012
Card Recipe:
Image - Summer Flower Tilda
Medium - Copic Markers
Paper and Floral Border - Vintage Girl by Martha Stewart
Rolled Flower Die - Cuties 3 by Cheery Lynn Designs
Sentiment - Making Memories
Flower Confetti - Brides
Pearls - Recollections and The Paper Studio
Lace and Ribbon - Wrights
The darker skin colors and shading were very scary to consider but Colleen Schaan kept telling us to "Embrace the darker colors" and you know what? once you do you realize what you were missing in the depth of your shading.
This is the first piece I have colored since my "re-birth" and while it's not perfect it is years ahead of where I was. Now if only I could grasp all the design concepts then I'd be golden!
Now enough wittering from me, run over to the Magnolia-licious Challenge see all the wonderful creations there and then go color and come back and show us what you made!
Katie

I'm not happy with my coloring at all on this, my preschooler could have done better but I'm rubbish with red. Hopefully after yesterdays class I will have learned how to improve with them (writing this in advance).
Any way I like the rest of the card, I love the papers and the sketch was super!
Now it's over to you to get festive with us at Christmas Card Challenges
Katie
It's time for another challenge over at Pile It On and you don't want to miss this one
Both teams are combining to give you a stunning array of samples
The challenge was a completely new one to me, we want to see you "Mixing Your Scales" and using something with a large scale pattern and something with a small one.
I chose to use a large floral background paper and then cut my doily from a paper with tiny hearts. I also printed the ticket image in a large size, mixing it up from the usual size. It was a fun one for me once I had my head around the concept :)
Card Recipe:
Images - Jellypark Friends
Medium - Copic Markers
Paper - Colorbok (floral), Tiny Hearts is unknown
Butterfly Die Cuts - My Favorite Things
Doily Die - French Pastry by Cheery Lynn Designs
Pearls - Bridal Dept
Flowers - Wild Orchid Crafts and Recollections
So now it is your turn to Mix It Up and come over to Pile It On and join in the fun!
Happy Friday Everyone!

It will be a long day, starts at 9am and doesn't finish until 8pm but I am so looking forward to it.
Hopefully over the next few weeks you will be able to see a change/improvement in my coloring
