A Picnic Explosion Box Scor-Pal Paper Smooches Cross Promotion

EDITED TO ADD:
Top 3 at 2 Sisters
Winner at Crafty Catz
Top 3 at 613 Avenue Create
Winner at Sentimental Sundays
Featured Artist at Anything But a Card
THANKS SO MUCH!!!!!!

Today I'd like to share my creation for the cross promotion on both the Scor-Pal blog and the Paper Smooches blog
As the set of stamps I worked with were food orientated I decided to go with an explosion box designed to look like a picnic basket :)

Project Recipe:
Picnic Paper - Hobby Lobby
Stamp Set - Think Fast by Paper Smooches
Grass Border Punch - Fiskars
Scoring Tool - Scor-Pal
Adhesive - Scor-Tape

In a 12" square piece of cardstock score at 4" on all 4 sides.

Burnish all score lines and trim away the squares formed at the 4 corners as shown in the photo.

Decorate as desired

For the lid you need a square measuring 7 1/8". Score at 1 1/2" on all four sides.

Burnish all score lines, snip up to the first score line on the squares formed at the corners (to make the flap to make the corners of the lid) and add Scor-Tape to the flaps as shown in the photo.

Form the lid being adhering the flap to the inside edges and burnish on the inside to form crisp corners.

The lid should be only just slightly larger than the base so that it hold the sides of the explosion box in place.
Decorate the lid as desired.

Use a 12" strip of cardstock to make the handle (it is only a decorative handle, if the box is lifted by the handle the box will open)

Add the handle to the lid and decorate the rest of the box as desired.

Finally on the inside of the box add mats for you to add photos to.
I hope that you have enjoyed my project.

Inky Impressions New Releases - Work Hard, Play Harder!

I've been so busy this week that it was lucky that I could make one card fit two commitments!
This card fits both my last Guest Designer spot at Cheery Lynn Designs and it features one of the New Releases from Inky Impressions!
There are two new rubber stamps, Nickie in The Rain and Christopher Riding Bike, and we have Golfer Boy as a brand new digital image!
I find that I don't use many of the fancy die cuts on boy cards so it was nice to challenge myself and I really like the finished result.

Cheery Lynn Dies - Card Maker Scalloped Rectangles (3 sizes), Grass Border and Cuties 2 (used as a border)

This border is actually meant to be rolled to make a flower but I think it coordinates well with the scalloped edge on the rectangles
I hope you liked this little guy as much as I do.

Parisian Purse - Scor-Pal May Arts

Welcome to my spot on the Scor-Pal and May Arts Blog Hop!

You should have come to me from Lalo IK's blog.
If not then go back to either the Scor-Pal blog or the May Arts blog for all the details and so you don't miss a single spot.

For my project I decided to make a Paris themed purse designed to hold notecards.

Project Recipe:
Tools - Scor-Pal, and Scor-Mat Adhesive - Scor-Tape and Hot Glue
Stamps - Moulin Rouge Tilda
Medium - Copic Markers
Paper - Countryside Villa by The Paper Studio
Border Punch - Martha Stewart
Die Cuts - Oval and Beaded Oval by Spellbinders
Accents - The Paper Studio
Hinge - Making Memories
Fabric Brad - The Paper Studio
Ribbons/Trim - Eyelet Trim, Black and White Chevron Wired all May Arts

Here you can see the items used in this project.

The base of the purse is made from black card stock measuring 12" by 6" scored at 4" and 8" along the 12" side.

For the pockets inside you start with a piece of card stock 10" by 4"
On the 10" side score at 1", 2", 8" and 9"
On the 4" side score at 1" and 2"
Burnish all folds

Decorate the front as wished.
Trim the corner flaps as in the photo and add Scor-Tape as in the photo to create the pocket.

Decorate the inside panels of the purse before adding the pockets that will hold the cards

Punched both sides of 12" by 1 3/4" strips of cardstock to create the handles.
Use Scor-Tape to attach to the inside panels of the purse.

Decorate the handle and purse edge as you desire.

Here you can see the double pockets inside the purse.

This flower was created from a 12" length of eyelet trim that was gathered along the edge with a simple running stitch and then the ends stitched together once gathered.
It was topped with a fabric brad

The completed purse.
A metal hinge was used as the fastener on the top. The hinge was attached with brads on one side and a magnet attached to the front inside top so that the hinge would attach and hold the purse closed.

The following are just close ups of the decoration.

Your next stop on the hop is Sandy Allnock but before you leave be sure to leave me a comment so you can be in with a chance of winning the prize
