I got to choose the challenge for this week and I went with "Anything with a B....", you could choose Boys, Buttons, Blue, Butterflies, Brads or Black (like I did), anything as long as it starts with a "B"!

TGIF!!!
Wow what a week it has been here, so busy that I seem to meet myself coming back in the opposite direction! Running back and forth to school for marching band practice, getting school clothes, haircuts, and hopefully today we will get a last trip in with a visit to the Dallas World Aquarium
But somehow I managed to fit in a little extra card using the super sweet Invitation Tilda, I can't believe I hadn't inked her up before.
I thought she looked like she could be writing a letter to a very special someone and so that is the theme I went with.
Card Recipe:
Image -Invitation Tilda
Medium - Copic Markers
Paper - The Linen Closet by DCWV
Glitter Cardstock - The Paper Company
Sentiment - 3 Bugs in a Rug

Lace Fabric - Joanns
Rose Trim - Hobby Lobby
Trim - May Arts
Flower - Prima
Butterflies - Recollections
Pearls - Recollections
Embossing Enamel - Shabby Blue by Stampendous
The base of the card was covered with some gorgeous lace fabric that I have had for a while, I bought it when it was on sale and 1 yard goes a long way!
I added a little embossing enamel around the edge of the image and all the edges of the card base to add a little shabby style to the card, I love the effect it gives.
Anyway be back tomorrow for a Pink Gem card and I hope if you have last minute Back to School stuff to do that your weekend goes well :)
Katie

Today is my turn to share an extra inspiration card at the Inky Impressions Inspiration blog. There are lots of extra cards and projects over there and it seems not many people know about it and I'd love you to take a look and leave a little love for the designers over there.

It's the start of a new week and for me a new team! I have been making cards with the super cute Paper Nest Dolls for a while and so it is wonderful to be a part of the team.
The new challenge is "Shaped Cards" and you can see all the fabulous samples at the Paper Nest Dolls Challenge!
I thought I'd squeeze in another Summer card and Boogie Boy Owen was the perfect guy for the job!
Card Recipe:
Image - Boogie Boy Owen
Medium - Copic Markers
Sentiments - The Paper Studio
Paper - Fly a Kite and Away We Go by My Minds Eye
Die Cut (for base) - Lifestyle Crafts
Brads - The Paper Studio
Palm Tree - Provo Craft
Embossing Powder (as sand) - Mix'd Media in Honey by Color Box
This is the fabulous prize for the winner!
I used a large Lifestyle Crafts die to make the card base, I hardly ever make non square cards so this was a challenge for me. I added some Honey colored embossing powder to the area around Owens feet to look like sand, but I used glue instead of embossing ink and let it air dry instead of using the heat gun (it would have melted the crystals and that wasn't the look I was looking for) and I think it worked out really well.
I hope you liked this and will give a shaped card a go soon and come back and share at the Paper Nest Dolls Challenge!
Katie
It's Sunday so that means a new challenge over at Pile It On and this time we want to see NO DESIGNER PAPER on your creations! Please don't go running and screaming for the hills, you have plenty of options to create a great card, you could stamp or paint your background, use sprays or mists, use embossing folders, ribbons, stickers, just NO DESIGNER PAPER!
We have a new sponsor this week and it is Oak Pond Creations
Card Recipe:
Image - When Life Gives You Lemons
Sentiment - Doodle Pantry
Medium - Copic Markers
Ruffled Ribbon - Offray
Trim - Hobby Lobby
Die Cut - Lacey Oval by Spellbinders
Embossing Folder - The Paper Studio
I love how the glitter in the cardstock really sets off the embossing, I didn't miss the patterned paper at all!
Now it's over to you to create and then enter the challenge at Pile It On

Happy Saturday everyone!
I am trying to get back in the swing of things with lots of new stuff for you to see and today I have a Summery "Just Because" card that I made a few weeks ago.
We took a short break/long weekend and got two days at the beach a few weeks ago and this takes me back to the warm ocean breeze (well wind) on my face and my toes in the sand.
It has been a super busy week for me with two birthdays, running to and from school for both High Schoolers who have "before school starts stuff" with Band and PSAT team and I could do with a walk on the sand but it's not coming any time soon so this card will have to make do.
Card Recipe:
Image - Sea Turtle Beach by From The Heart
Medium - Copic Markers
Paper - Nostalgia by My Minds Eye
Wooden Sun - Lara's Crafts
Trim - Multicraft Imports
A very simple card for me, just a little layering for dimension, a few layers of torn sand, a little inking and that was about it.
Anyway. I'm sending Buckets of Love to all of you and be sure to drop back tomorrow for a card for the new challenge at Pile It On!
I loved the stamps I chose and right away had an idea for a cute way to use them.
Project Recipe:
Stamps - Plate 1116
Medium - Copic Markers
Paper - Mementa
Die Cuts - Spellbinders
Brads - Unknown
Scoring Tool - Scor-Pal
Mat - Scor-Mat
Adhesive - Scor-Tape
For each drawer start with a piece of cardstock measuring 8 1/2" by 7". Score at 1" and 2", turn a 1/4 turn and repeat and repeat until all 4 sides are scored as in the photo.
Cut away the 3 squares on each corner as shown in the photo. Snip the remaining square to the score line to form a flap so you can create the corner.
A big tip is to cut the flap to make an angle as shown in the photo to make the corner easier to form and to make a crisper corner.
Add Scor-Tape as shown to the inside sides.
Turn over and add Scor-Tape to the flaps on the outside.
Form the drawer on the scored lines and use the Scor-Tool to create crisp edges from the inside out.
Each drawer is designed to fit the doll on the stamp plate.
To join the drawers a sleeve needs to made for each drawer. By creating each drawer individually means this project can be adapted to create as many drawers as you like. The sleeves are created from a piece of cardstock measuring 12" by 3". On the 12" side score at 2". 3" 7 1/2" and 8 1/2".
Check for a clean fit around the drawer and then create the sleeve using Scor-Tape to adhere. The drawer should fit snuggly in the sleeve. Add Scor-Tape on the outside to attach the drawers together.
The completed drawers before decoration.
Decorate the outside of the drawers with coordinating paper.
To create stability I made a top and base from a die cut piece with chipboard underneath it for strength. Attach to the top and bottom of the drawers with Scor-Tape.
I added a mirror backed with a decorative die to make the drawers into a pretty little girls dresser.
To make sure the mirror stayed in place I created a stand from chipboard covered in coordinating paper that was attached to the mirror and the dresser.
The drawers open to store the stamps, the paper dolls and clothes.
I stamped and colored 5 dolls and stamped and cut the clothes from coordinating paper. I plan on completely paper piecing the outfits at a later time.
This is a great project to give to any girl that loves fashion and needs something to do on an inside afternoon. The top drawer has room for a pair of scissors and a stamp pad so more dolls and clothes can be made when the fancy takes her.
I hope you liked this and make sure you looked at all the fabulous projects this week.
