Scor-Pal Designer Challenge #2 - Sweet Treats

It's a new month and that means a new challenge at the Scor-Pal's Designer Challenge
This month we want you to incorporate something sweet into your project-stamped images, photos, actual sweets--however you interpret it!

I decided to go with a Paper Cupcake which doubles up as a treat holder!
The best basic tutorial for this is the Fabulously Artsy You Tube one which I based the bottom part of my cupcake on. That one is used to hide a gift card but I left the center of the base hollow for treats.

Crafty Purple Frog - Lots of Layers
Paper Crafting Journey - Punches and/or Dies
Emerald Faeries - Punches and/or Dies (3 entries only)
My Partner in Crafting Crime - Sweets and Treats

Project Recipe:
Paper - Jeepers Creepers by The Paper Studio
Border Punch - EK Success
Spider Punch - Martha Stewart (years old, well before the Michaels styles)
Trim - Wrights
Circle Dies - Quickutz
Candy - Countrytime Lemonade :)

The cupcake base is made of a chipboard 6" circle with a 2" circle drawn in the center.
The chipboard is cut into the center at 16 equal sections up to the 2" circle line.
Then instead of hot glue I wanted to see if the Scor-Tape would work and so tried it with 1/4" size.

Draw the cut sections up towards to the center and shape to create the cupcake shape.

After making the basic chipboard base for the cupcake I covered it with a scored band made from 2 strips of cardstock measuring 2" by 12" scored at each 1/2".

Again I attached it with Scor-Tape, this time 1/2" instead of hot glue.

Then the "frosting" is made of rosettes of decreasing sizes then topped with a spider.

I made a chipboard top to cover the edge of the cupcake base and covered it in paper and added a double layer of bobble style trim. Finally I filled the base with wrapped candy.

Now this was my very first attempt, it isn't perfect but then nothing rarely is.
I will probably make another when I have time and I'm sure it will look better and take me 1/2 the time!
But now it's over to you, be sure to go and create a "Sweet Treat" with your Scor-Pal and come and share it with us at the Scor-Pal's Designer Challenge
Katie
