Scor-Pal/Clearsnap Blog Hop

Welcome to my stop on the Clearsnap and Scor-Pal Summer Fun Blog Hop 2011!!

You should have arrived here from Daniela's blog, if not be sure to go back to the start at Clearsnap so you don't miss a single spot on the hop!

Our lovely Design Teams have created some wonderful summer fun projects with
the Scor-Pal, brimming with inspiration and of course lots of Clearsnap inks! Visit each Design Team member's blog to see what inspiring projects they have to share. Leave a comment on each blog. We'll choose one winner from all of the comments posted to receive a prize pack from Clearsnap and
another from Scor-Pal.

For my Summer Themed project I chose to make a mini recipe box and offset gatefold card to save all those fabulous recipes you've collected over the Summer.
It would also be the perfect gift for a Blue Ribbon Winner at a County Fair!
As always I have a few challenges linked as well.

Challenges
AI Factory - Anything Goes
Paper Crafting Journey - Anything Goes
Thrilling Thursday - Anything Goes
Aud's Sentiments - Anything Goes
Craft Us Crazy - Anything Goes (3 entries only)
Crop Stop - Pearls (3 entries only)
Hanna and Friends - In The Kitchen
Happileigh Scrappin - Girlie

I used the following tutorial for a Mini Recipe box and added a handle.

Project Recipe:
Images - Tilda with Rolling Pin and Tilda Baking Cookies
Cooking Stamps - Stamps by Judith
Paper - K and Co Watercolor Bouquet
Medium - Copic Markers
Ink - Colorbox Espresso
Smooch Spritz - Vanilla Sugar, Cashmere and Ginger Ale
Flower - Wild Orchid Crafts
Border Punch - Martha Stewart
Stickers - Crafty Secrets
Pearls - Recollections
Ribbon - Unknown

I used the soft Espresso ink to stamp the little kitchen jars, the perfect color, not too harsh but clear and crisp.

The card is a super simple gate fold but just slightly offset so one "gate" folds over the other. I really like the versatility of this fold, you can make it just how you want it and very easily with the Scor-Pal.

I layered the Smooch Spritz's on the flower, giving a wonderful depth, lots of shimmer and the perfect color for my project.

Now you've seen my little project be sure to HOP ON OVER to Charlotte's blog to carry on with the fun!
Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to leave a comment!

Extra! Extra! More Cuddly Buddly Fun!

You may have read earlier that today is the start of the Cuddly Buddly challenges!
Well one new team member has had a lot going on and couldn't get her card in on time so I got to play along twice this week! Scratch that, it was a mix up but I still got to make a second card :) Remember if you want to play that the theme is "A Brand New...." and that you need a Cuddly Buddly digital product to enter but there tons of FREEBIES to choose from so you have no excuse not to play along!

The reason this card is in a separate post is that it is going into challenges and I can't enter two cards into the same challenge with the same URL so this one is a stand alone!
I got to work with the fabulous artwork of Pachela Studios and chose Toby Tumbles friend Tabitha with her little butterfly friend.

Challenges:
Paper Crafting Journey - Anything Goes
The Paper Shelter - Anything Goes
Stamp Something - Something Digi
Stamp N Doodle - Animals/Nature
Truly Scrumptious - Things With Wings
Flutterby - Open (with a Fairy, Angel or Butterfly)
Lexi's - A Bug's Life
Hooked On Crafts - Flowers
Digital Tuesday - Flowers
KB Cute Monday - Flowers
Deep Ocean - Flowers
Ooh La La - Summer Flowers
Scrapbook Sisters - Summer Fun
My Time To Craft - Here Comes Summer
My Mum's Craft Shop - Something Old, Something New (die cut and flowers are old, the image, papers and team are new!)
Stamp With Sarah Kay - More than 3 layers
Creative Inspirations - Stitching
4 Crafty Chicks - Stitching

Card Recipe:
Image - Special Friends
Papers - Toby Tumbles Hearts and Flowers
Sentiment - Bits Of Ivory Garden Sentiments
Medium - Copic Markers
Glitter - Martha Stewart Glitter Markers Cool Spectrum
Border Die - Nellie Snellen Decorative Borders 3
Die Cut - Spellbinders Labels 1
Trim - Offray
Flower - Stash
Rhinestones - Michaels $1 spot
Fabric Brad - Dear Lizzy

Tabitha is such a cutie and the way the images are drawn make it easy for even a beginner colorist to get a great result. I added a few glittery bits with my Martha Stewart glitter pens, I do have and use the Atyou Spica Copic's but the Martha one's have a bolder glitter and sometimes bolder is better! LOL
Anyway I hope you've enjoyed both of my Cuddly Buddly cards today, be sure to click on my main blog banner to be taken to the home page so you don't miss anything and also run on over to Cuddly Buddly and join in the fun of the first challenge!

Super News!!! Cuddly Buddly has a Digi Challenge!! #1 - "A Brand New..."

You'll remember a few weeks ago I announced that I was part of the new challenge team at Cuddly Buddly and today is the day of the 1st challenge!
Challenges will be each Friday but we are two teams, Cuddly and Buddly!, and so you'll see a card from me every other week.
You need to use a Cuddly Buddly digital project to enter but there are tons of FREEBIES so there is no reason not to play :)
We will have winners each week, all the details are on the Cuddly Buddly blog
Now to this very 1st challenge, I had the honor of choosing the theme and in the spirit of the new challenge and team members I've chosen the theme of "A Brand New ...". You can make a card for a new baby, new home, new start (graduation), wedding or maybe just using brand new products or a technique that is brand new to you!
Plenty of ideas for this one and we really want to see you play along.

Challenges:
Paper Crafting Journey - Anything Goes
Stamp Something - Something Digi

Fresh Brewed - Birthday or Party
Crafts and Me - Birthdays

Scrapbook Sisters - Summer Fun

Card Recipe:
Image - Twinkly Fairies Strawberry Sweet by Cuddly Buddly
Papers - Cottage Garden by Cuddly Buddly and Toby Tumbles Hearts and Flowers by Pachela Studios for Cuddly Buddly
Border Punch - Martha Stewart Edge Punch Daisy
Ribbon - The Whimsey Cottage
Fabric Brads - K and Co
Sentiment - Printed in Black Boyz on Mopeds

I'm the first to admit that I shied away from digital papers for a long while as we in US have such an easily available selection of tangible papers that I didn't feel the need.
But many of my favorite digital stamp companies have matching papers that I was slowly but surely pulled in :)
It is so nice to be able to print just as much as you need, make the image on the paper smaller or larger to suit your needs and even change colors if you need to!
I used papers from two different sets on this card and I really love the results.
This was such a easy card to pull together as the image is so sweet that it didn't need much to finish it off.
I hope you like it and go grab a freebie if you like and come along and play with us at Cuddly Buddly!

The Pixie Cottage Challenge #73 - Sketch and/or Shape It Up

It's another Once Upon a Wednesday at The Pixie Cottage and this week we have the theme of "Shape It Up" where we want to see your shaped cards. We also have a wonderful sketch if you want to use it.

Card Recipe:
Image - Hannah at a Fence

Paper - Basic Grey Curio
Doily Die - French Pastry by Cheery Lynn Designs
Border Punch - Martha Stewart Garden Trellis
Flowers - Wild Orchid Crafts, Prima and Love Letter Roses
Pearls - The Paper Studio
Sentiment - Heidi Grace
Lace - Wrights

I did this card pretty much freehand, just hoping it worked out as I went along! I started with a 6" square base from which I used a lid from one of my ribbon jars to cut a semi circle into the top leaving and uncut piece for the fold to hold the card together. Then I picked out a border punch, trimmed the base to the right depth and punched. Then I cut out a whole circle, edged it with lace, add the the patterned paper and then completed like a regular card. What I like is that I can make an envelope for a 6" square on my Scor-Pal and mail it easily!
I really enjoyed making something a little different and I hope you will spend time and show us your shaped cards over at The Pixie Cottage this week
