Fun in Red White and Blue!

As you probably know I am English but have been living in the US for over 15 years. One of the comforting things we share as Nations is that our flags, The Union Jack and The Stars and Stripes, are both Red, White and Blue.
As it is Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee year, and London hosting the 2012 Olympic Games and as we approach The 4th of July celebrations here in the US it certainly feels the right time of year to feel Patriotic.
A lot of the card challenge blogs feel the same way and so I thought it only "right and proper" to make a card to celebrate my UK/US home :)
But I didn't do a specific event, just a general Celebratory card!

Challenges:
2 Sisters - Anything Goes
Pan Pastel UK - Anything Goes (1 entry only)
The Poodles Parlour - Red White and Blue
Saturated Canary - Red White and Blue
Sassy Cheryl's - Red White and Blue

OMG did I enjoy making this card or what? The adorable image, I loved the hair, and the simplicity of a strong primary color scheme coupled with the neutrality of the Kraft cardstock made this just a dream to make.
I really hope you love her as much as I do.
Be sure to click back a little later for a post about a fabulous collaboration between Scor-Pal and Momenta that you won't want to miss!

A Shabby Chic Saturated Canary Bookmark

It's another Friday Free For All with a Just Because creation.
This one started because I had a Saturated Canary image I wanted to color up and their challenge is to make a bookmark so I just took the idea and ran with it.
I also had a great coupon for Michaels on Memorial Day so it was time to stock up on all those embellishments I love but don't like to pay full price for, you know the feeling? :)

Challenges:
Pennys - Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes

I added the Opaque White Paint to the pearls in her hair and to her ring and pendant.
I don't need the bookmark as I use my Kindle Fire for reading the majority of the time so this will be proudly on display in my craft room.
It's the last day of school here so wish me luck for the next 11 weeks of sibling rivalry (you now that is), camps, swimming, vacation, music lessons and everything else that goes with 3 children at home. Hopefully I will still have time to craft!

All The Flowers of Tomorrow - My 1st Saturated Canary!

I been admiring the fabulous cards on other blogs created with the gorgeous images from Saturated Canary but I hadn't taken the plunge as I was a little intimidated by the wonderful work I'd already seen. But when Krista opened her new store and offer a discount I decided to drop a few in my cart just to try them ;)
This is my very first attempt and I had to use my cheapo cardstock as at the moment my printer does not like the X-Press It and I haven't managed to coax it to print on it yet.
I loved the hair on this cutie so chose her as my first.
Challenges:
Bunny Zoes - Anything Goes
Just Keep on Creating - Anything Goes
One Stitch at A Time - Anything Goes
Bearly Mine - Anything Goes (2 entries only)
Saturated Canary - Flowers
The Hybrid Chic - Flowers
Ribbon Carousel - Flowers and something Spooled (the lace)

The Shabby Tearoom - Garden Party (Pink, Green and Dimensional Flower)
Creative Card Crew - Dimension (3 entries only)
Going Grey - Bingo! (I chose Flowers, Die Cut, Digi) (2 entries only)
Sassy Cheryls - Fave Color Combo (I love Pink and Green together)

Card Recipe:
Image - Cerridwen by Saturated Canary
Medium - Copic Markers
Paper - French Country Stack by DCWV
Sentiment - Heidi Grace
Butterfly - Prima
Flowers - Recollections
Swirl Die - Quickutz
Lace - Wrights
Pearls - Recollections

Now you seasoned Saturated Canary lovers will see the glaring error I made in the coloring a certain part of the image but I didn't realize until lots of color was there and so I just had to go with it. Please forgive my innocent mistake :)

I loved her and can't wait to color her again with my real cardstock once I get my printer issue fixed.
Have a wonderful day!
Katie
