Treehouse #52 - Beach Vacation

It's time for another challenge at The Treehouse and this week it's brought to you by Kelly.
She challenges the team, and you, to come up with a creation based on a "Beach Vacation" theme.

A great challenge for the start of Summer and I found a few others that worked with it too:

Fussy and Fancy - Recipe, 3 Images (one can be a sentiment), 3 papers and 3 embellishments
Taylored Expressions - Sketch
Auds Sentiments - It's Your Day
Stamptacular Sunday - Life's A Beach
Creative Inspirations - Beach theme
The Pink Elephant - Gotta Wear Shades (bright fun colors)
Diedrich Dare - Photo Inspiration
Everybody Art - Summer
Stamp With Sarah Kay - Summer
Kah Wink E Dink - 6 of one (I used 6 buttons)
Tuesday Throwdown - Trees or Nature

Card Recipe:
Image - Fun in The Sun by Treehouse Digitals
Paper - K&Co Citronella
Medium - Copic Markers
Border punch - Martha Stewart
Buttons - Unknown

All 3 images came from the same digital set and it's a great value with 8 images and 11 sentiments for just $5!
So grab your markers and paper (or should that be bucket and spade or shovel and pail (covering both sides of the Atlantic today)) and get in the Summer mood and show us your bright and sunny projects!
Remember to drop back and link them at The Treehouse and Good Luck!

Treehouse- Spring Cleaning - Clean And Simple Challenge

Happy Thursday,
Now this week at The Treehouse we have a new challenge that was a real challenge to me.
We want you to make a "Clean and Simple" card which means very few embellishments, fewer layers and an image that can make the card alone.
Now this was a real test for me as I like to add lots of challenges to my card and that usually means lots of "stuff" on the card so to strip it down to the basics really took me out of my comfort zone.
I have Design Team member Neva of Neva's Crafty Cave to thank for this challenge, take a look at her blog to see her style.

Now I couldn't not have challenges so these I think work for this type of card;

Taylored Expressions had a beautiful clean looking sketch
Sassy Susie had an Easter theme
KL Stampin and Scrappin want Buttons
Ooh La La had an Anything Goes theme
Stamp With Fun wanted a Spring card
Rosie Dees also want you to Think Spring
Tanda Teaser wanted Simply Spring
Scrappy Frogs wanted you to "Challenge Yourself" and this certainly was a challenge for me.

Card Recipe:
Image - Joyful BlessingsTreehouse Stamps digi
Embossing folder - Sizzix
Border Punch - Martha Stewart
Buttons - Dress it Up by Jesse James
Medium - Copic Markers
Acrylic flower - Hobby Lobby

I didn't leave the inside blank but it sure is simple ;)

I colored two of the image and popped one on top of the other. I know that doesn't really fit completely with the "Clean and Simple" rule but it's as simple as this "Fussy and Fancy" girls gonna get! LOL
And it really was a super quick card once I decided how to approach it, jst about 20 minutes from start to finish.

I hope you've enjoyed this and don't think I've cleaned up too much, there's sure to be some more "fancy schmancy" on my next card :)
