Use It Challenge Designed by me!!

Happy Friday!
I can't believe another week has rolled around!
Last week I was picked as the winner at Use It Challenges and it meant I got to design a challenge for them!
I love the way they do it at Use It as it takes challenges just a little further than other blogs.
It gives you super themes and recipes and the challengers give fantastic examples!
I hope I've done a good one for them, I certainly had fun coming up with the idea and making the projects.
My challenge is:

1. Create something Fall related. This can be a card, a scrapbook page, a piece of home decor, a recipe box, anything you like! Use Fall colors and embellishments too.
2. Add some embossing, wet or dry, and try it on something new if you can.
3. I want to see flowers, easy yes, but I want Handmade ones not ones out of a jar! They can be handcut, punched, stamped, die cut even crocheted as long as you made them yourself.
4. Try a little paper piecing. This can be as simple as to cut out your title or as elaborate as cutting a whole scene free hand. You can use a pattern, use a stamp or make it up as you go just as long as you get out the scissors :)

I made two pieces for this challenge so people could see different thing they could do with the same "recipe".
I hand cut the bird, the pumpkin and the leaves. I punched flowers and layered to make the sunflowers. I added fabric brads by The Paper Studio for the centers. I embossed the pumpkins with a Cuttlebug folder.
The dp is My Minds Eye from the Spring collection but I thought the colors looked Fallish too!
The scene was created on the large Octagon Nestie but the I matted it using my trusty ruler and exacto knife :)
I added faux stitching with a black pen.

The inside is more dp and a coordinating Octagon for the message mat.

Here is a close up of the scene.

Then I created a matching door hanger.
It started as an unfinished wooden piece from Hobby Lobby which I traced and cut dp to the pattern.
I inked all the edges and added faux stitching, which I love as you can put it where a sewing machine won't work.
I hand cut and punched all the accents, embossed and inked and then created the scenes. I added a "Family" tag that I inked to match the rest of the piece.

A final look at both together.
Of course they've been other challenges popping up while I created this and as it happens some fit with this one too!
La La Land Crafts wanted some distressing.
Treehouse Stamps had a Fall theme
Crafty Creations wanted some embossing (just like I wanted too!)
Papercutz had an ABC challenges and this project counts for A-Autumn Leaves, B-Brads and C-Circles (the brads are circles aren't they? and the center of the A is a circle! Hee Hee!)
And Lili Of The Valley had a color challenge of Green, Brown and Orange.
I'd love to see you join in the challenge I created for Use It Challenges and maybe you'll get to design the next one for them!

ETA, I've just been over to the Use It blog and it seems like it's the last challenge ever this week :( I'm so sad as I love the challenges over there. I'd love to give Rae a huge thank you for letting me host the last one and if we could lots to enter this week it would be a nice goodbye for all her hard work.
Have a great weekend.

It's not a card but it sure is a Halloween Cutie!

Hello Everyone!
I got super news this morning, the card posted here yesterday won me the 1st Place at Victoria Case Challenges! What's even better is that I meant I'm joining them as a Guest Designer for next weeks challenge!
I love Victoria's sassy art work, her girls have so much character and are so much fun to color.
Today I used one of her latest releases and of course it covered a few challenges along the way! LOL

Use It wanted a gift bag decorated in a Halloween theme. I suppose this is a purse but it would work wonderfully for Halloween treats!
Creative Inspirations Challenge wanted stitching either real or faux and the mat around the image is faux stitched in silver.
I Heart to Stamp had a Halloween theme that fitted in perfectly.
Trimmies Craft Challenge wanted "Anything but a card" and finally the super new blog Haunted Design House wanted Halloween with wings so I added tese cute chipboard butterflies to the handles although as they are green I'd like to think they were Luna Moths!

This fabulous image can be found at Victoria Case Art and is called Mr Moon. I colored her with Copic's and she's so naughty I just love her!
The paper is from an old stack and the Halloween stickers are The Paper Studio.

I just wanted to show her again, I can't wait to use her again. This really showcases how great digital images as you can make them whatever size you need whether you are making a card or something else!
Have a great rest of your day!

This one's for the girls!

Happy Tuesday everyone!
Wow another baking hot weekend and yesterday was the hottest day of the year so far, I'd be happy with a day that didn't reach 100F! LOL
I've been busy piling challenge upon challenge and todays card covers 8 (I'm determined to break past that 8 barrier soon though ;))
This one is entered into the following:
Friday Sketchers - The sketch
Dare U2 Digi - Color challenge, Pink, Black and White.
Paper Play - Fashion
Simon Says Stamp - Paper Piecing
Creative Inspirations - Gems and Pearls
Use It - 2 punches (I used a border punch and corner rounder punch), texture (I embossed the back panel with my cuttlebug), favorite paper (I'm so fickle it changes every week but I love this paper from Dovecraft that I got for winning blog candy at Suzannes blog), bonus items was pearls.
Digital Tuesday - 1, 2, 3 recipe, 1 digital image, 2 dp (one inside and one outside for me) and 3 different embellishments (for me gems, pearls and flowers)
and finally
Stamp With Fun - Punches
Now that was a long list and now you get to see the card.....

Please meet Lola Rose, she is a fantastic digital image that I got at Pink Petticoat and I just love her! I paper pieced her dress which is so easy with digital stamps, you simply flip the original image and print on the back of your dp and cut it out, perfect and no lines! I used a Martha Stewart border punch on the back mat and embossed it with a Quickutz folder (BTW I spotted them on sale at Remember When and they work just the same as Cuttlebug). The cardstock is Coredinations and after embossing I sanded it lightly for the white core to show through. The dp is Dovecraft courtesy of the wonderful blog candy I won from Suzanne at Scrap Bitz. The pearls are Martha Stewart Wedding and the gems from the $1 spot at Michaels.

The inside is just more dp from the same collection and a little more ribbon to coordinate with the front.

I just thought she was so cute and wanted to give you another look.
I colored her skin and hair with Copic's and added Diamond Stickles to her dress, bag and shoes.

I hope you like her and have a great rest of your day!

Just Magnolia Challenge (oh and 4 others with this one too!)

Happy Hump Day everyone!
My plans this morning were to share a card and that I will do.
But I first want to say WOO HOO!!! my 4th of the July card that I blogged about here was the one chosen at random to be on the home page of the Magnolia-licious Yahoo group for the whole month of July! Not bad for a British import . I want to thank everyone that has sent me messages of congrats, I love all the ladies at that wonderful group, so full of talent!
Anyway, back to todays' card.
This is a 5-in-1 (I must be slacking after last weeks 8-in-1 LOL) and I will admit to manipulating the sketch a little to make it fit.
The challenges are:
Just Magnolia - Sketch
Pile it On - Add 4 or more buttons (I sure managed that :))
Charisma Cardz - Anything goes
Use It! - Nature (I chose the flowers), Polka Dots and Favorite Embellishment (buttons, flowers and punches for me)
The Pink Elephant - Favorite color combo challenge, I love pink and brown so that's how it went.

I chose Tilda with Tag from Magnolia-licious as I think she always looks good in softer colors.
The dp is Basic Grey Sultry and the flowers are Prima.
I layered two of the new EK Success border punches that I got from Michaels and embossed the top the punched border with a Cuttlebug border folder.

I love the bold pattern of this paper so much that I wanted to showcase it inside so I just added a simple space for a sentiment so you can see the lovely flowers.
I hope you like her and be sure to come back tomorrow for my card using this weeks sketch at Friday Sketchers.
