Tilda sends Christmas Greetings - Challenge #1 for The Pixie Cottage!

Happy Wednesday!
The Pixie Cottage are starting bi-weekly challenges and the 1st one is today!
Challenge #1 is a sketch challenge and it's such a great sketch!

Of course it wouldn't be me if I did a card with only one challenge so here are 15 more that I found that I used to help me create it.
Magnolia-licious Highlites have a monthly challenge and for October they wanted you to do an easel style card which was so much fun to do!
Fab's Big Christmas wanted something round and I think the big round mat from the sketch works here (plus the pearls and the brads are round!Hee Hee!)
La La Lands had a Christmas/Winter theme so this works too.
Stamp With Sarah Kay had the Christmas theme too.
Die Cuts R Us wanted Handmade Embellishments, well I made the flowers and the hatpin too!
Charisma Cardz had a recipe of 1 ribbon, 3 papers, 3 flowers and a charm
Cute Card Thursday wanted you to be So Charming and include a charm
Gingersnaps had a new supply challenge and this time it was Brads
Caardvarks wanted to see Ribbon used in a wonderful way
Crafty Creations wanted to see Blue
Dutch Dare had a recipe of 2 colors of cardstock (I have metallic green for the base and smoky blue matting the squares), 2 patterned papers, 2 flowers, 2 brads and 2 genstones/buttons, I'm hoping the pearls on the hatpin count as gemstones!
Creative Card Crew wanted to see Scallops and I used a scalloped border punch as my "stop" on the bottom layer of the easel.
Everybody Art wanted us to use Shapes or Punches
Use Your Stash wanted you to use OCT in your project. So I chose O for "Out of the Ordinary" fr the fold style of the card, C for Christmas and T for Tilda
Flutterby Wednesday has a free month as long as the project has a butterfly or fairy. Well I know Tilda is an angel but she has wings and you can see them in this image so I hope she'll do! LOL
Lili of The Valley wanted a Christmas card for a child.

The dp are from Basic Grey from last years Dasher collection
I used the fabulous door stamp by Sandra Hammer that is available for preorder at Michelles Scrapbooking.
The little Tilda waiting patiently by the door is called "Barefoot Tilda with Lantern" and I have to say she is so cute and I loved the fact that the door is proportioned perfectly for the Tilda and Edwin stamps. I searched and searched for a link for you and finally found her at Magnolia in Sweden and she's from the 2007 Winter/Christmas collection but I can't find a US source right now.
Both Tilda and the door are colored with a combination of Copic's and Promarkers. The flowers were made with two sizes of EK Success punches with Making Memories Button Brads in the center and inked for dimension.
The sentiment is from Crafty Secrets and the hat pin was made with a selection of beads from Hobby Lobby and Walmart. The ribbons are from Michaels from last years Christmas selection.
You can find the template for the easel card at the Magnolia-licious Highlites blog and there are dimensions for different size cards, mine has a 6" square front.

I used a punched border made with a Martha Stewart punch and topped by ribbon as the "stop" to help the easel stay upright.

I love the fact that this card folds down flat to go in an envelope but looks so great when standing up!

Be sure to drop on over to The Pixie Cottage and try your hand at the sketch. You have two weeks to enter so create and link back so we can see your wonderful work!

Buzzing By! - New Card for My Grafico!

Hi Everyone,
It's time for the sketch challenge at My Grafico Challenges and this week the team got to work with a set of designs used for tags. The BumbleBee Tags were easy to adapt for a card though and that's a feature I love with digital stamps. You can resize and even alter the shape by stretching to get just what you want, and next time you start from scratch with the original all over again!

I used both the rectangle and circle tags to make this card. I printed them both on yellow paper and before printing I added the sentiment to the circle, another fab thing with digi's!
I used paper from my stash and coordinated the gingham theme with a mini bow, fabric brads and a ribbon border. The border punch down the side is Martha Stewart.

The inside is more dp with a message mat complete with more ribbon and a matching flower.

I used flowers from Brides and topped them with fabric brads and put them in a punched vase.
I'd love to see you try your hand at the sketch too so run over to My Grafico Challenges and give it a try!

Happy Monday!
I hope you had a great weekend!
Ours was busy, what's new?, and to be honest I'm glad for the extra day so I didn't have to jump up out pf bed bright and early.
I have a new card for the challenge at Cute Daisy May and this time the challenge is to use a Fairy on your project.
I got to use this fabulous Cinderella Fairy from Sheet 27 and all the image on that collection are super cute!
I've used other challenges to help me create this card.
Paper Play gave me the sketch
Color Dare had a color combo of Always Artichoke, Creamy Caramel, Elegant Eggplant and Pumpkin Pie
Pals Paper Arts had a similar combo of Pefect Plum, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie with the addition of neutrals if you needed them
Flutterby Wednesday wantd to see a Fairy
Creative Card Crew had a Celebration theme
Copic Creations wanted to see Pumpkins
Cuttlebug Challenge had a Halloween theme.
Ildi Co had a recipe of 4 layers (more than that here!), 3 embellishments (I hope ribbon, dew drops and the punched border count) and at least 1 pumpkin!

Cinderella is colored with Copic's and matted on a scalloped Nestie.
The border punch is Apron Lace from Fiskars.
The dpp is Reminisce and the sentiment is from Joanns.

The inside is more dp and a message mat trimmed by a silver Prismacolor pen.

I love her slipper, I wonder where her Prince is with the other one?
I hope you'll grab a fairy stamp and join in the fun over at Cute Daisy May

A Sneak Peek at a brand new Pixie Cottage stamp!

Happy Saturday everyone!
One of the best things about being on a Design Team is that you get to see and work with the new stamps before they go on general release! It's a little like knowing what someone is getting as a gift and getting to play with it before they do! LOL
So over at Michelle's Scrapbooking and More they have brand new Pixie Cottage stamps and this one I got to play with is so cute! It's designed by Alisa Ramirez and is called What A Doll!
Be sure to go to the Pixie Cottage blog as well to see other new cards from the Design Team using these fabulous new stamps!

I've used a few challenges to help me along my way!
Whimsy Stamps wanted Sugar and Spice or Snips and Snails
PaperTake Weekly gave me the sketch
Tuesday Taggers had the theme of "Shades of Autumn"
Crafty Calendar also had Autumn as their theme and so did Secret Crafter
Trimmies Craft Challenge had a photo inspiration that really worked for this card.
Treehouse Stamps wanted a "Just Because" card
Gingersnaps had challenge GC25 which was Harvest and I think the Autumn colors of this card count there :)
And finally Stamp Something wanted to see Brown as the predominent color and Stampin For The Weekend wanted Orange, Brown and Leafy Green and My Creative Clutter wanted Red, Orange and Brown so it fits there too!

The dp are from K&Co and although they are not themed as Autumn the soft warm tones made me think of Fall.
The image is colored with Copic's and Promarkers.
The flowers are Prima and the brads are The Paper Studio from Hobby Lobby.
The bows and the lace are both Offray.
The sentiment is a Studio G from the $1 spot at Michaels.

The inside is more dp and a message mat cut from a new Labels Nestie.

You must agree she certainly is a doll!
Take a look at these great stamps over at Michelle's Scrapbooking and More and all the examples are at The Pixie Cottage
Hope to see you over there!

Freebie Friday At Digital Delights!

Happy Friday,
Wow, another week is almost at it's end but luckily that means that it's time for another freebie over at Digital Delights!
This week it's another super cute Halloween image, this time of Billy and he's dressed as a Devil and he's riding a spider! LOL

I got a sneak peek of him a couple of day ago and had to get working on a card right away as he was too cute for words!
I used the fantastic sketch from Basic Grey Challenges and it gave me an excuse to raid my stash to complete it.
Also Simon Says Stamp had a Halloween theme and so did Cuttlebug Challenge (also a little tip, Wendy is sponsoring this challenge so you could get even more of her wonderful images if you win!)
Dare U2 Digi had the color combo of Yellow, Orange, Black and White and I think he fit's for this challenge too!

Now I'm not saying I'm a hoarder but the black dp and letters are from "Aged and Confused - Vagabond" which was one of Basic Grey's first releases! I have so little of it left but, you know, it has to be used eventually.
The colors are a little different from the regular Halloween color scheme but I think they worked well enough.
The circle accents are from Martha Stewart from last year at Michaels and the orange "pearls" are also Martha Stewart this time from her collection at Walmart.

The inside is a little more of the dp and a message mat.

Isn't Billy a cutie?

So run on over to Digital Delights! right now and grab yourself the freebie while it's there! And I'm love to see what you can do with him so be sure to come back and link to let me see!

Double, Double Toil and Trouble! New Pixie Cottage card

Happy Thursday Everyone!
Today's card uses a brand new stamp by Sandra Hammer for The Pixie Cottage and it is available to buy right now!
Sandra is such a talented artist and it is wonderful to be able to work with her fabulous images.
The card covers a few challenges too :)

Clean and Simple Stamping gave me the sketch
The Pink Elephant had the color combo of Black, Orange, Purple and White
Die Cuts R Us wanted to see Copic coloring
Copic Creations wanted Pumpkins and so did Stampin B's
A Spoon Full Of Sugar and 2 Red Banana's both had a Halloween theme
And finally Scrap and Stamp Saturday wanted you to use a quote and I thought this one from William Shakespeare was perfect.

Sandra's witch is called Hannah and she's so cute and her cloak/dress was so great to color. I used about 5 different markers to get the effect I wanted.
The purple dp is KMA and the word dp is DCWV.
The pumpkins are from a Studio G $1 set from Michaels. The quote is from 7 Gypsies.

The inside is more dp and a message mat topped with coordinating ribbon.

I hope you liked her and I'm sure she'd look cute gracing your Halloween cards and scrapbook pages.

My Grafico Card for Breast Cancer Awareness

Happy Wednesday!
I hope you didn't think I'd abandoned the My Grafico Challenge when you didn't see my card on Monday.
We have split into 2 teams and now my cards will be seen on Wednesday.
Plus it means you have two different choices when it comes to entering as the Monday Challenge will be a Color Challenge and the Wednesday will be a Sketch Challenge so you can chose whichever suits you best!
It's much better for me to be on a Wednesday anyway as I have another team on a Monday and each card really needs a day of it's own :)
This week we are honoring everyone who has been affected by Breast Cancer will our creations.
I chose this wonderful clip art set by Kelly Medina instead of digital stamps this week. I hope I can show that you still make it look "your own" if you dress it up.

I tried to find some challenges to go with this piece but it was a struggle this week.
3 Clovers wanted us to Think Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Sunflowers and Dragonflies wanted Sparkle and Shine
CupCake Crafts had the theme of Thanks a Bunch and while this card could be a "thinking of you" card it could just as well be a Thank You card.
Crafty Catz wanted to see Butterflies
Crafty Card Makers wanted to see Ribbons
Finally Flutterby Wednesdays had a free for all as long as it had a fairy or butterfly!

I printed the clip art with the butterfly flying above the flower trio.
The dp is Martha Stewart from her baby girl block at Walmart. I added rhinestones to the centers of the flowers and added heart rhinestones to the side. I used a Fiskars border punch and made strips to fit around the side of the card. The sentiment is a Studio G $1 stamp from Michaels and I stamped it with Bamboo Memento ink.

The inside is more dp with a message mat.

I hope to see you join in with the sketch at the My Grafico Challenge!

Double post day!

First apologies for the double post!
But I needed this in a post of it's own :)
You may have seen a new logo on my sidebar but if you haven't then take a look at 'm excited to announce that I made it on to the new Design Team at Digital Delights/Delightful Sketches!

I've been a fan of Wendy's from her cards he sells on eBay and when she started selling her designs as digital stamps for everyone to use I knew it was a good thing!!
And if you've been following my blog for a while you may have seen that I try to do each one of her sketches as I just love them!

Well when she asked for applications to be on the team I thought I'd give it a go! And last week she let me know I'd made it and I've been bursting to tell everyone but had to wait until today!

So be sure to visit all my team members blogs, they are super talented and be sure to visit both Digital Delights and Delightful Sketches and join in the fun!
