June is Here - Time for a Blushing Bride!

Is it June already?
I can't believe where this year has gone.
June is known as the Wedding Month with June Brides primping their hair and wearing their finest on that most special day!
So to celebrate I made another Wedding card. Up until a couple of weeks ago I'd never made any and now I've made 3 and I don't even know anyone getting married! LOL

I have a few challenges that this one fits:

Our Creative Corner - Sketch
Meljens - Silver and Gold
Fun Two Stamp - Metal Accessories
Lucys Cards - Digital
Copic Creations - Animals
Sweet Stampin - Pimp Your Card
Bee Crafty - Something New
Paper Garden - Something Girly (what's more girly than her Wedding Day?)
Cupcake Inspiration - Cupcake photo
Stampin Sisters in Christ - Hearts
The Shabby Tea Room - Dear to my Heart (used a heart charm and what is more Heart than a Wedding?)
Totally Stampalicious - TV Inspiration - Say Yes To The Dress

Card Recipe:
Image - The Wedding Collection at Lily Boo
Paper - DCWV The Linen Closet stack
Medium - Copic Markers
Roses - Wild Orchid Crafts
Sentiment - Karen Foster
Lace - Offray

The sketch called for scalloped edges to the mat on the circle but I used Bridal Confetti instead and I think it ties the theme in nicely.

These are the markers I used on this one.
So if you are getting married this month I wish you all the very best in love and luck! My anniversary isn't until August but it will be 16 years this year and I'm grateful for each and every one of those :)

Treehouse Stamps - A New Sketch

This week at the Treehouse Stamps blog we have a new challenge and this one is a brand new sketch! And our featured Design Team member is Maria, drop on over to her blog to see her wonderful work!

I turned the sketch on it's side and made a Z Fold card to match the sketch. I've never done this fold before but I'd loved it and am glad I now have it in my card "arsenal".

There were more challenges that I added to this card:

One Stop Crafts wanted you to be Optimistically Pink
Poppy Paperie wanted Crystals/Rhinestones, a Flower image and a touch of Light Yellow (I think I made it work with the Pink :))
Allsorts want Something for Mum
My Time To Craft had a Just for Mum theme
CRAFT want Mothers Day too
Simon Says wants Mothers Day/Girly
Our Daily Bread want you to "Think Outside the Box" and do something other than the regular size/fold on a card. So I try my version of a Z Fold with the sketch turned on its end.
Lucy's Cards want you to be inspired by another card and I just loved this recent card by Christine a member of the ODB DT
Crafty Ann's want you to do something you've not done before

Card Recipe:

Image - Spring Bouquet from the collection at Treehouse
Paper - Nana's Nursery Baby Girl Pad and My Minds Eye
Deep Border Punch - Martha Stewart
Flowers - Wild Orchid Crafts
Rhinestones - Michaels $1 spot
Medium - Copic Markers
Sentiment - Printed Poor Richard font
Die Cuts - Spellbinders

Here you can see the Z Fold from the side

I used one of the fabulous Bouquets from the Spring Bouquet collection and there are so many in this set that I know I'll be using them again and again.

So we'd love to see what you do with the sketch, enter your creation at the Treehouse Stamps blog!

Easter Blessings - Tilda and An Easter Basket

Hello and Happy Tuesday!
I'm looking ahead to the next holiday and so today's project is my first Easter one for 2010.
There was a super challenge at Just Magnolia with a tutorial to make a cute Easter basket and I decided to give it a try.

There are more challenges helping me along the way:

Allsorts want you to "Get Distressed with Buttons and Bows"
The Secret Crafter wanted Monochrome tones of one color and white
Saturday Spotlight wanted Teeny Tiny
Just Magnolia had a special monthly challenge of an Easter Basket
Magnolia Stamp Lovers wanted Buttons or Bows
Raise The Bar wanted a Heart to Heart
Die Cut Dreams wanted you to Have a Heart
Stamp With Fun wanted Hearts
Cutie Stampers wanted Hearts
Cute Card Thursday wanted Spots and Dots
Lucys Cards wanted Polka Dots (some on the ribbon)
Etsy Inspired had a photo store for inspiration and I chose this photo to draw the colors from
Pinkle Art had a Rose theme
Crafty Angels want your Favorite Color
Tellens Place are playing Tic Tac Toe and this is my Hat Trick with my 3rd entry! I chose Flowers, Punch and Bling!
Sketch Saturday had the sketch I used for the matching card

I want to apologize for the shadows in the photos, it's a very dark day and no matter where I stood I got shadows, I hope it doesn't spoil it too much.
I used the super sweet Jam Tilda from the Yummy In Your Tummy collection. I colored her with Copic's.
The dp is My Minds Eye.
The flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts and the pearls are Queen & Co.
I sat Tilda on the edge of the basket and then added a double mat behind her.
The bows are Offray.
The border punch is Valentines Lace by Martha Stewart.

The eggs were paper mache that I spray painted and then added ribbon around the middle.
The felt flowers on the handle were from Hobby Lobby.

I used the same products on the card with the addition of the Hearts "Punch Around The Page" set of punches from Martha Stewart.

The card opens a little differently than usual, I'm not sure what the "fold" is called but I think it could be an Envelope Fold as it looks like an envelope from the back when it's folded closed.

Here is a close up of cute Jam Tilda.

I'm ready for Spring to get here as we are having some cold, grey days here in Texas so be on the lookout for more bright and cheery projects coming your way!
