Gorjuss meets Magnolia!

Happy Friday!
I've loved the Gorjuss Girls designs by Suzanne Woolcott since I first saw them at Funky Kits.
I had a few Sugar Nellie stamps but having to order from Scotland always made them lower on my list simply because I'm an "instant gratification" kinda gal!
Then my local scrapbook store Personal Scrapbook started to carry them and so I had to run and get some! Today I'm using "Just a Girl" and I hope you like her. Also as Sugar Nellie don't make background stamps to go with the Girls I was super pleased to find that the Magnolia backgrounds work perfectly!

I had a few challenges I wanted to do to go with this card too:

City Crafter - Pink
Stamp With Sarah Kay - Pink
Totally Gorjuss - Pink and Green
Craft Your Passion - Pink and Green
Midnight Madness - Sketch (turned a 1/4 turn)
A Spoon Full of Sugar - 3 DP and 3 Buttons
Little C's - 2 or more layers
Shellys Images - Anything Goes
Crafty Angels - One for The Girls
Crafty Calendar - The Great Outdoors

Card Recipe:
Image - Just A Girl by Sugar Nellie from Funky Kits
Image - Summer Background by Magnolia
Paper - Making Memories and DCVW
Flowers - Wild Orchid Crafts
Die Cuts - Quickutz
Border Punch - Fiskars
Medium - Copic Markers and Airbrush System
Extra's - Smooch Paint and Flower Soft

I masked her to add the background and then painted the clouds with Smooch paint and added Flower Soft on top for a little fluff.
I hope to find time to do some more Gorjuss cards soon!

At least 2 designer/patterned papers

Paper - My Minds Eye Laundry Line
Flowers - Wild Orchid Crafts
Sentiment - Joanns Craft Essentials

The card fastens with two brads and a ribbon

Hopefully you can see that the flowers are paper pieced in two colors of pink, distressed with chalk ink and a rose added to the center.

The flower panel opens up to reveal the place for a message.

I hope you liked this card and I'd love to see your take on my challenge over at Cooking It Up With Katie.
Also I'm looking for a little help in the creations for the challenge and so I'm putting out a call for a small Design Team. All the details can be found on the challenge blog :)

Easter Blessings - Tilda and An Easter Basket

Hello and Happy Tuesday!
I'm looking ahead to the next holiday and so today's project is my first Easter one for 2010.
There was a super challenge at Just Magnolia with a tutorial to make a cute Easter basket and I decided to give it a try.

There are more challenges helping me along the way:

Allsorts want you to "Get Distressed with Buttons and Bows"
The Secret Crafter wanted Monochrome tones of one color and white
Saturday Spotlight wanted Teeny Tiny
Just Magnolia had a special monthly challenge of an Easter Basket
Magnolia Stamp Lovers wanted Buttons or Bows
Raise The Bar wanted a Heart to Heart
Die Cut Dreams wanted you to Have a Heart
Stamp With Fun wanted Hearts
Cutie Stampers wanted Hearts
Cute Card Thursday wanted Spots and Dots
Lucys Cards wanted Polka Dots (some on the ribbon)
Etsy Inspired had a photo store for inspiration and I chose this photo to draw the colors from
Pinkle Art had a Rose theme
Crafty Angels want your Favorite Color
Tellens Place are playing Tic Tac Toe and this is my Hat Trick with my 3rd entry! I chose Flowers, Punch and Bling!
Sketch Saturday had the sketch I used for the matching card

I want to apologize for the shadows in the photos, it's a very dark day and no matter where I stood I got shadows, I hope it doesn't spoil it too much.
I used the super sweet Jam Tilda from the Yummy In Your Tummy collection. I colored her with Copic's.
The dp is My Minds Eye.
The flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts and the pearls are Queen & Co.
I sat Tilda on the edge of the basket and then added a double mat behind her.
The bows are Offray.
The border punch is Valentines Lace by Martha Stewart.

The eggs were paper mache that I spray painted and then added ribbon around the middle.
The felt flowers on the handle were from Hobby Lobby.

I used the same products on the card with the addition of the Hearts "Punch Around The Page" set of punches from Martha Stewart.

The card opens a little differently than usual, I'm not sure what the "fold" is called but I think it could be an Envelope Fold as it looks like an envelope from the back when it's folded closed.

Here is a close up of cute Jam Tilda.

I'm ready for Spring to get here as we are having some cold, grey days here in Texas so be on the lookout for more bright and cheery projects coming your way!

Treehouse Stamps -A Little TLC

Happy Thursday!
It's time for another challenge at the Treehouse Stamps blog and this week we'd like to give a little TLC and are sending out Get Well Soon projects to inspire you.
And in the "spotlight" today is our wonderful designer Ashley without whom there wouldn't be a Treehouse Stamp!
I got to use another of the brand new digital images and this time took the super cute cup from the Friends and Lattes set
I love the adaptability of digital images and used the image in two different ways to make a perfectly matching set.

Not many other challenges with this project but I did find a couple.

Kaboodle Doodles wanted Anything But a Card
Pals Paper Arts also wanted Anything But a Card
Sew Many Cards had an Anything Goes theme as long as you use a digital image
Crafty Calendar had a Keep Warm theme and I think this project works for that.
Crafty Angels wanted you to Keep It Simple
Copic Buzz wanted Anything But A Card with a Cooking/Recipe/Kitchen theme, I hope my cup of coffee counts! LOL
Charisma wanted bright and Fruity colors

I made a "Get Well Soon" set of a mini lunchbox and matching mini card.
The box could be filled with a pack of tissues, fancy tea bags, cough drops or anything else to make the "patient" feel a little better.
I printed one cup out in a larger size, colored it and cut it out. Then I popped it up on foam on the front of the box. For the card I printed 3 tiny cups in a border and colored them the same as on the box.
The fantastic dp is from the Nook and Pantry Collection from Basic Grey and the flowers are Prima.

I hope you've enjoyed my little project and be sure to check out all the other wonderful

The Pixie Cottage Challenge #7 - A New Sketch for you to try

It's another Wish Upon a Wednesday at The Pixie Cottage and this time it's a fabulous sketch from super talented Design Team member Renata

It was a little different from the regular sketch but I knew what I wanted to do with it as soon as I saw it.
It reminded me of a frame on one of those oil painting you see in a big mansion and I tried to create a similar look on my card.
Obviously I couldn't make a card without adding a few other challenges to it ;)
Crazy 4 Challenges wanted a Birthday card
The Pink Elephant also wanted a Birthday card
Just Us Girls wanted Stitching
Cupcake Crafts had a "Going Girly" theme
Die Cut Dreams had an inspiration challenge of "Coffee and Cream" and I decided to use it for my color scheme
Corrosive wanted to see Distressing
and so did Creative Card Crew
Crafty Angels asked "Can You Feel It?" and wanted to see texture on your card so I used textured cardstock, popped up the image and added 3D ribbon roses.

I've had this wonderful Hannah stamp for a while know but this is my first time coloring it and I love how it turned out. I colored her with Copic's and even colored the sky as background even though it's really light on the screen.
The dp is K@Co and the sentiment is a sticker but I can't remember from who.
I inked all edges with Chalk Ink and pen stitched with a fine Prismacolor marker.

I used more of the wonderful dp inside and a message mat.

I just wanted a close up of the beautiful Hannah.
Don't let the sketch put you off, try it and you'll like it, just like they say on Yo Gabba Gabba!! (Mom's of preschoolers will know what I mean :))
I'd love to see what you can do with the sketch.

By The Cute and Girly Challenge #3- At The Movies

It's a double posting day today!
There is a fabulous new challenge at By The Cute and Girly and this time it's "At The Movies".
You can find so many things that this will work with. Maybe chose a favorite movie and be inspired by its Title or Theme. Or chose a favorite Actor to base your project on. Or make a super awesome Popcorn holder!
Whatever project you make be sure to link it back to the blog and drop the link at Mr Linky so we can all see it!

I added a few challenges to go with mine.

Friday Sketchers is where I chose the sketch from
Die Cut Dreams had the theme of "Hot Chocolate"
In The Cottage Studio had a theme of "Digital Stamp"
365 Cards Day 271 had a "Give Thanks" theme
3 Clovers had Thanksgiving/Thank You card theme
Crafty Angels also had a Thanks theme
Kraftin Kimmie had a "Touchy Feely" theme

The inspiration for my card this time is the movie "Chocolat". I chose this super image from this months sponsor Digi Sparkle who are offering a FABULOUS prize of a "Months Free Downloads"! That means you can have as many images as you can download in a month, the best prize I've seen around in ages!
I decided to Paper Piece the Hot Chocolate mug and then I popped it up.

Inside is more dp and a message mat.

Don't you just fancy a cup?

So be inspired by your favorite movie and join in the challenge this month!
Be sure to check out all the other fabulous examples at By The Cute and Girly

New Card For Lily Boo Too!

Happy November!
I can't believe another month has rolled around.
It's time for a new challenge at Lily Boo Too and this time the theme is Purple!
You can create anything just as long as purple is the main color.
I used a couple of other challenge to help me along the way.
Sketch and Stash gave me the sketch
The Pixie Cottage wanted Celebration cards
Tuesday Taggers wanted to see a "Burst of Color"
Crafty Angels wanted to see a Charm

I used Betty with Balloons from the Betty and Friends collection and I think she looks all ready for a party!
I colored her with Copic's and added Paper Studio brads to the corners.
The dp are a mix of DCVW from different stacks including Nana's Kids and Nana's Nursery. The "Celebrate" charm is from a set at Target from my stash.
I colored the flower with Copic's to match the papers.

The inside is simply more dp and a message mat.

I'd love to see you grab your purple papers, markers etc and join in the fun this month at Lily Boo Too!
