More Easter Fun from Digital Delights (Grab your shades for this one! LOL)

Happy Monday Everyone!
It's getting closer and closer to Chocolate Day, oops I mean Easter :), and Wendy has created some more super cute Easter designs that are just perfect for Easter cards, gifts, baskets and scrapbook pages too!
I couldn't resist the latest Boy and Girl especially as the boy reminds me so much of my 3 year old son Carter. In fact when he saw the card he said it was him and was insistant that the Easter Bunny would be bringing him an egg almost as big as he is!

As well as the cute images I had to include a few challenges too:

Stamp, Scrap and Doodle have a recipe and want Pink or Purple and Buttons and Ribbon
Lili Of The Valley want an Easel Card
Sketch Saturday had a great Sketch that worked with the two images and the easel card
Paper Sundaes wanted a Multifold Easter or Spring
Sassy Susie wanted Easter
Secret Crafter had an Anything Goes week
Totally Gorjuss wanted Something Sweet and Easter Eggs sure are sweet!
My Time To Craft wanted Kids Kardz!
Paper Popsicles had an Easter theme

Card Recipe:
Images - Easter Boy and Easter Girl from Digital Delights
Paper - DCWV Flower Shower
Buttons - The Paper Studio for Hobby Lobby
Medium - Copic Markers

These certainly are a cute pair and I know I'll be using them again before Easter is over.
I hope you liked them too :)

Easter Blessings - Tilda and An Easter Basket

Hello and Happy Tuesday!
I'm looking ahead to the next holiday and so today's project is my first Easter one for 2010.
There was a super challenge at Just Magnolia with a tutorial to make a cute Easter basket and I decided to give it a try.

There are more challenges helping me along the way:

Allsorts want you to "Get Distressed with Buttons and Bows"
The Secret Crafter wanted Monochrome tones of one color and white
Saturday Spotlight wanted Teeny Tiny
Just Magnolia had a special monthly challenge of an Easter Basket
Magnolia Stamp Lovers wanted Buttons or Bows
Raise The Bar wanted a Heart to Heart
Die Cut Dreams wanted you to Have a Heart
Stamp With Fun wanted Hearts
Cutie Stampers wanted Hearts
Cute Card Thursday wanted Spots and Dots
Lucys Cards wanted Polka Dots (some on the ribbon)
Etsy Inspired had a photo store for inspiration and I chose this photo to draw the colors from
Pinkle Art had a Rose theme
Crafty Angels want your Favorite Color
Tellens Place are playing Tic Tac Toe and this is my Hat Trick with my 3rd entry! I chose Flowers, Punch and Bling!
Sketch Saturday had the sketch I used for the matching card

I want to apologize for the shadows in the photos, it's a very dark day and no matter where I stood I got shadows, I hope it doesn't spoil it too much.
I used the super sweet Jam Tilda from the Yummy In Your Tummy collection. I colored her with Copic's.
The dp is My Minds Eye.
The flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts and the pearls are Queen & Co.
I sat Tilda on the edge of the basket and then added a double mat behind her.
The bows are Offray.
The border punch is Valentines Lace by Martha Stewart.

The eggs were paper mache that I spray painted and then added ribbon around the middle.
The felt flowers on the handle were from Hobby Lobby.

I used the same products on the card with the addition of the Hearts "Punch Around The Page" set of punches from Martha Stewart.

The card opens a little differently than usual, I'm not sure what the "fold" is called but I think it could be an Envelope Fold as it looks like an envelope from the back when it's folded closed.

Here is a close up of cute Jam Tilda.

I'm ready for Spring to get here as we are having some cold, grey days here in Texas so be on the lookout for more bright and cheery projects coming your way!

Challenge #5 at Cooking It Up!

Happy Thursday!
Where are the weeks going?
I can't believe we are on Challenge #5 over at Cooking It Up With Katie!
For the last challenge I got 24 entrants and I hope to see more as the weeks go on.

I chose a few challenges to go along with my own.

Bee Crafty had a gorgeous photo inspiration
Digital Tuesday wanted you to send Holiday Wishes
Charisma Cardz had the theme of Merry and Bright
Pals Paperarts had a theme of Christmas Cheer
PaperTake wanted you to use both Digi and Sparkle on your card
365 Cards Day 251 wanted your Dream Duo, your two favorite colors to work with. I've always loved the look of Pink and Green together so this was an easy one :)
Sketch Saturday gave me the sketch
Digi Kitty wanted you to Punch It!
Paper Maniac want you to do something out of your comfort zone. As you'll read further on (and should know if you've been to my blog before) I'm really more a "Cutesy" than "Classic" card maker so to use a non-cute image really was a challenge to me.
Creative Inspirations wanted New or Neglected and the image was brand new, bought as I was actually making the card! LOL
Crazy 4 Challenges wanted an Easel card (my 3rd this week!!)and The Secret Crafter wanted Easel style too.

The recipe this week is:
a. Use a flower. If possible use it in a different way such as folded, as part of the pattern of the paper, embossed into the cardstock
b. Use something clear or see through/reflective. Examples are a Dew Drop, Rhinestone, Acetate, a window, a mirror
c. Choose a sketch from another challenge as your layout. This can be a current or past sketch, just be sure to say/link to it in your post.

It took me ages to chose and image and I printed a few out but as the card progressed I soon realized that cute would not work this time.
I don't have very many "classic" images as I'm quite a new stamper (just a year)so I turned to my favorite source, the digital stamps sites :)
I found this fabulous image at Sketching Stamper and knew right away that it was perfect.
The dp are Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses and the cardstock is Coredinations.
I used the Valentines Lace border punch from Martha Stewart and the flowers are from Brides.
I colored the image with Copic's and I actually changed the color of the Fimo accents (the flower centers were blue) with a Copic too.
There are two ribbons on there, one is hidden next to the punched border.
The sentiment (my favorite Christmas one so far this year) is by Studio G from the $1 spot at Joanns.

I really do love the Easel Style card and highly recommend you have a try at one for a special upcoming card.

I'd love to see what you do with my recipe over at Cooking It Up With Katie!

OK, 19 challenges in one card! Am I going too far? LOL

Happy Saturday!
First let me apologize for the lack of posts this week.
I've been busy with upcoming Design Team projects and didn't get a chance to do anything that wasn't on my to do list!
But this morning Nathan was at his Merit Badge college (the last of 3 weeks)with Andy and Georgia was at Girl Scouts so I got a couple of hours for me.
There were so many challenges that I didn't do last week so I wanted to fit as many as I could into this one card, I think I did good ;)
First I started with the sketch fom Sketch Saturday and I rotated it to fit with my image.
There were a lot of similar themes so it was much easier to have a big list this week;
My Time To Craft wanted an Autumn Fest
Allsorts was Autumn Days
Creative Inspirations was Autumn/Fall
Stamp With Fun was Autumn
Digital Tuesday was Autumn Leaves
Then came the recipes;
Play Along Monday had 1 Ribbon, 2 Eyelets (inside the card this time) and 3 colors, I chose Brown, Rust and Green
Digital Ink Co had 2 Designer Papers and 3 brads/buttons or eyelets (the buttons are embossed on the border)
Kaboodle Doodles wanted 1 cardstock, 2 dp, 3 embellishments and 1 digi image
Add some embellishment challenges;
Whimsy Stamps wanted Buttons, Buttons, Buttons!
Paper Cutz wanted at least 3 Buttons
I needed some techniques;
Basic Grey wanted Embossing (and BG paper of course)
La La Lands wanted Paper Piecing and you know I love that!
Cupcake Crafts wanted to see Distressing and so I inked the edges and sanded the edges, the leaves and th embossed border.
365 Cards Day 210 - Try A Technique, Sanding
Scrap And Stamp Saturday wanted Distressing and at least one stamp
Finally I need a color scheme so I found a color challenge and 2 "inspiration challenges"
Color Chef Challenge wanted Orange, Brown and Green and Cream or White
Pals Paper Arts had a Pottery Barn photo for inspiration and
Etsy Inspired had a jewelry store for inspiation and I chose this beautiful piece for it's copper and green tones and earthy feel.

This fabulous image of Cherry is from Pollycraft and I just love her!
I paper pieced the hat, dress and tree. I added color with Copic's to her faces and shirt and did markers and paper piecing on the sleeves.
I embossed my favorite embossing border folder which is those cute buttons! I then inked and sanded it.
I added the Harvest ribbon to the border and also took a piece to use as my sentiment.
The dp is Mellow by Basic Grey.

Inside is more dp and message mat with more ribbon and two heart eyelets.

A close up of all that paper piecing.
Anway I hope you like her and have a great weekend!

Just for the New Mommy, Cute Daisy May DT Card

Happy Monday Everyone!
It's time for another challenge at Cute Daisy May and this time the challenge is to create a baby card.
There were so many wonderful images that the Design Team got to chose from and I chose this super cute Mommy from Sheet 64.
I also am entering this card at Sketch Saturday for their DT Call and the 1st round application deadline is today! It was quite a complex sketch but it worked wonderfully for this image.

As usual I colored the image with Copic's and I edged it with a border made from the Apron Lace border punch by Fiskars.
The dp is DCWV Nana's Nursery Baby Boy stack. I used the same border punch to edge the bottom of the card. I printed out the sentiment and added it to a circle sticker. I topped it with a Martha Stewart premade bow.
I added Dew Drops as a finishing touch.

For the inside I use one of the new Spellbinders Pendant dies as the message mat.

What New Mommy wouldn't want this after all her hard work growing a baby? :)
Have a great day!

OK, I really think a 12 step program may be in order......

I'm sorry to say that I may soon be standing up and saying "My name is Katie and I'm a Challenge-aholic". Every day I spend some time going through peoples blogs and if I see a new challenge that's not in my journal then I get all excited and scribble it down. And when it comes to creating a card I sit down at my screen clicking from page to page finding things that work together.
This morning I had time to do a little playing and somehow (with encouragement from my daughter) I managed to find 12, yes 12, challenges to combine! LOL
So here comes mr reason for needing a 12 step program!

Sketch Saturday - Sketch
Pile It On - Mostly Orange ( I had to manipulate and color over the yellow flowers with an orange Copic)
Our Creative Companion - A triple play, 3 embellishments from a list and I chose Ribbon, Buttons and Brads
Paperplay - Your favorite nibble. I chose a Terry's Chocolate Orange as Christmas wouldn't be the same without it.
PollyCraft - Arrows (and I used a Pollycraft image although you don't need to)
My Time To Craft - A Bird in the Hand
Secret Saturday Crafter - Spots and Stripes, I used spotty buttons and paper and stripy brads.
ABC - W is for Window
Belli - Texture, I embossed the background and used different ribbons for more "feel"
The Cuttlebug Spot - The Inside Counts (easy for me as I always finish the inside)
Daring Cardmakers - Away with the Fairies
Tuesday Taggers - more Texture

I used a cute Twiddly Wings from Polly Craft Designs and colored her with my Copic's. I cut the window with a Nestie and made a frame with the next size up Nestie. I embossed the yellow paper with my Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder. The brads and buttons are Paper Studio and the dp are K & Co. The arrow is a chipboard one that I colored with my Copic to match (and thanks to Georgia who searched through a drawer to find the last one left of these arrows)

Hopefully you can see through the "window" to the image.

I added ribbon across both sides of the inside as I couldn't do much to the window side.

In case you couldn't see Twiddly closely I added another shot of her.
Anyway my fingers hurt from all the links so I'm signing off right now!
Have a great Sunday!

Little Girls are the nicest things :)

Happy Hump Day!
Another week is already half way through, this Summer seems to be racing by!
It's hot again but what else should I expect from Texas in July :)
Today's card covers 6 challenges and is a theme that fits with the eBay sellers group I'm in as well. I'm in a group of sellers that all sell handmade paper crafts including scrapbook pages and handmade cards. Each month we have a theme and for July we are doing Gummy Bears on Parade and you can see all the wonderful work from my friends HERE.
The challenges this card covers are:
Sketch Saturday - Sketch 58
Colour Create - Color Challenge, Grassy Green, Apple Green, Sunflower Yellow, Lemon and White.
Flutterby Wednesdays - Fairys, Buttons and Bows
Cute Card Thursday - A stitch in time, real or faux stitching
Paper Play Challenges - Paper Roses, handmade flowers
The Secret Crafter Saturday - 3 ribbons

This little fairy bear comes from Teddy Bears Playtime 2 by Cuddly Buddy, what I love about this set is that you get the black and white line drawings as well as the colored versions so you can color them yourself! I colored her with Copic's and added Diamond Stickles to the star, bow and flower.
The dp is DCVW Nana's Nursery Baby Boy.
The border punch is EK Success and the sentiment is Cloud 9. I made the large flower from a punch, inked the edges and added a button and ribbon.

The inside message mat has the same trim as on the front.
I used faux stitching with my fine tip Prisma markers.
I really like how sweet she seems and I hope she makes you smile too :)
Have a great day!

Wow! 8 challenges in 1 card!

Hi Everyone,
You know how I did 6 callenges in one card last week?, well I've topped myself this time with 8 in 1!
I've been so busy with other cards that to get every challenge I wanted to do in I had to combine and I hope you like the result :)
This card covers:
Rosie Dee's Color challenge - Pink and Lime
Secret Saturday Color challenge - Pink and Green
Allsorts Theme challenge - Wings (on the butterfly as you can't see Tilda's, hee hee!)
Our Creative Corner Theme challenge - Stars
Sketch Saturday Sketch #56
Just Magnolia Theme challenge - Summer
Pile It On Color challenge - Purple (the butterflies are purple and a little on the stripes of Tilda's shirt)
Lili of the Valley Technique challenge - Paper Piecing (I paper pieced Tilda's shirt and jeans)
Whew, that was a long list and now comes the card :)

I tried to make it so it looked like Tilda was sitting on an open windowsill and the border punch was the curtains.
I used the Tilda with Bee from the Chasing Butterflies collection and colored her with my Copic's and paper pieced her shirt and jeans. I used 2 different border punches both by Fiskars. The sentiment is from The Paper Company and the dp is DCWV Garden Party.

The inside just has coordinating papers from the Garden Party and Spring stacks by DCWV.

Here is a close up of cute Tilda. It looks like she has a halo from the sun but it was too late to restamp so I had to go with it :)
I hope you have a happy rest of your day and be sure to check back tomorrow for a card using the Friday Sketchers latest sketch.

6 Challenges in 1 card!

Happy Hump Day!
There are so many cool challenge blogs around these days that I don't have time to do a card for each one that takes my eye. Well I noticed that many allow you to combine challenges with those from other blogs so today's card makes the most of that.
In fact there is a new blog that actually wants you to combine!
Pile It On gives you a challenge but wants you to use it with as many others as you can :)
So today's card fills the following challenges;
Pile It On - Use 2 Ribbons
Just Magnolia - Paper Piecing
Charisma Cardz - Something Yummy
Copic Creations - Wood
Three Clovers - Paper Piecing
Sketch Saturday - Sketch

It feels so good to have some many crossed off my list!LOL

It was fun to do all the challenges at once and I hope I pulled it off OK.
I used Tilda with Cowberry Muffin and colored her with Copic's and paper pieced her dress and muffin.
The papers are DCMV Nana's Kitchen.

I used some coordinating papers for the inside.
I hope you like her and I hope it inspires you to try and combine some of the wonderful challenges out there in blog land :)
I also wanted to give you a heads up that I sell my cards on eBay and you can see the ones I have right now HERE
Over the Summer I will be listing every Tuesday evening and even if you aren't a buyer it's always fun to take a look as there are cards there that you won't have seen here on my blog as I don't have time to share them all.
Have a happy day!
Katie
