A Gem of a Challenge - Cherish Every Moment

Happy Saturday Everyone!
It's definitely Summer here with us hitting the triple digits and the children are out of school. I'm going to try and keep up with a card a day on the blog apart from a little break in a few weeks for vacation.
Today's card is made with a stamp from a British stamp company called Pink Gem Designs. I discovered them after a trip home to England where I bought a card making magazine that had a little article on them. I bought a few of their stamps and loved them.
Then they brought out a new character in their designs and I just had to have some more :)

I have a few challenges to help me out:

Pink Gem Challenges - Burgundy, Pink and Green
Fresh Brewed - For The Kids
Sweet Sketch Wednesday - Sketch
Charisma Cardz - Flowers (I did some of the popular handmade spiral flowers)
Alphabet Challenge - F is for Flowers
Stempel-Magie - Flowers
Paperplay - Flowers and Sparkle
Scrap Stamp and Doodle - Handmade Embellishment
Quirky Crafts - Girly Girl
Pear Tree Designs - Floral Delights
Crafty Ho's - Bling, Ribbon and Flourish

Card Recipe:
Image - Sitting Chloe by Pink Gem Designs
Paper - Colorbok Sweet Hearts
Medium - Copic Markers
Sentiment - The Paper Studio
Border Punch - Martha Stewart
Flowers - Handmade
Swirl Punch - EK Success
Rhinestones - $1 spot
Die Cut - Quickutz

Here you can hopefully see the spiral flowers better. They are super easy to make and you can find by simply Googling "Handmade Spiral Flowers".
I hope you've liked this card and please drop back tomorrow for a new card for Pile It On!

All the team got to work with their choice of one of their weird and wonderful images and I chose Lounging Kaylee.

Along with the image the team was challenged to "Think Out of The Box" and do something a little different from normal. I really shy away from aperture cards and so when I found a challenge which needed a "window" I built my card around it.

Crazy Challenge - Something New (the image and the papers)
CRAFT - Birthday or Celebration
Pixie Dust Studios - Add a Pearl
Digi Doodle Shop - Sparkle, Glitter, Glitz
Diva Stamper - Photo Inspiration (flowers and butterfly and girly)
Meljens - Seeing Spots
Sew Many Challenges - Anything Goes

Card Recipe:

Pearls - Queen and Co
Flowers - Cricut Accent Essentials and Wild Orchid Crafts

Here you can see inside the card with cute Kaylee lounging on the grass looking at the butterflies.

Here's another view peeking in through the window!

I had fun with this one as it really stretched me at first but once I got going there was no stopping me!
So please, step out of your comfort zone, out of your box and come and join us over at Pile It On this week and you could be our lucky winner!

Home Sweet Home - An Easel Card with a few challenges too!

Happy Sunday!
I don't know what's got into me, two days in a row of "just because I wanted to make them" cards, no DT requirements again LOL
The image is from one of the teams I'm on but I made the card because I wanted to, not because I was asked to. It feels good to play without boundaries once in a while.

Of course there had to be challenges that worked with this and here they are:

365 Cards Day 318 had a Home Sweet Home theme
Creative Inspirations had the theme of "New Year, New Products"
Charisma had an "Anything New" theme too
Crafty Creations wanted 3 different textures
Stamp With Sarah Kay wanted an Easel card and you know I love that style!
Sweet Sketch Wednesday had a super sketch that worked perfectly with the Easel card
Our Creative Corner had the color combo of Blue and Green, any shades.
There She Goes wanted 3 different types of embellishment
Hand Full Of Stamps wanted Polka Dots and the scalloped mat has a polka dot pattern

I just had to use a house from the fabulous New House Collection at Lily Boos. It was hard to chose which of the super cute houses to color but I thought I'd start with the flowerpot house and I'm sure I'll be doing some more really soon.
The papers are from the Modern Basics page kit by Colorbok from Joanns. These were just clearanced out and I managed to grab a couple as I love the colors.
For the different textures I embossed the ribbon panel with the Victoria Cuttlebug folder, handmade a folded petal style flower and added chunky rick rack for another different feel.
The border punch is EK Success, the paper roses are Prima and the pearls are Queen & Co.

I added another rick rack and punched combo border to the inside of the card to help it stand. I also added a small message mat for you to send your greeting on.

I just love the Easel style of card and just think how the thrilled the recipient of this New Home card would be, they get a card and a decoration all in one!
