Pile It On - Flowers and Flourishes

Happy Sunday!
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and if you went shopping on Black Friday that you got what you wanted :)
This weeks challenge at Pile It On is to include both Flowers and Flourishes in your project.

The other challenges that fit this are:
ResQ Challenge wanted you to use felt
Creative Inspirations was where I chose the sketch from.
A Spoon Full of Sugar had a color combo of Brown with either Blue or Pink
My Time To Craft had a theme of "Very Vintage"
Created By Hand had a theme of "I'm Blue"
Etsy Inspired had a wonderful inspiration store and I chose this gorgeous scarf from the Barefoot Weaver store
Crafty Creations had a Christmas theme
Lil Red Wagon wanted Buttons
Cuttlebug Challenge want to see Glitter
Stamping Vacation had a "Pick 3" theme and I chose Buttons (around the mat), Glitter (on the dp) and Pearls (tiny ones on the ribbon)
Tuesday Taggers had a theme of Festival of Light
Winter Wonderland wanted to see a Candle and Tilda is holding one.
Fabs Big Christmas wanted "Ladylike Christmas" as the theme

I chose another of the new Jolly Holly Holiday Collection MAgnolia stamps for this card. This little beauty is called Christmas Morning Tilda and I colored her with Copic's. Then I cut her out and popped her up on the circle.
I used dp from The Fruitcake collection by Basic Grey and the glitteres stripe is from the Laundry Line by My Minds Eye. I aged the chipboard flourishes with 3 different chalk inks until I got it just how I wanted it. The big flower is Prima and the felt flower from Hobby Lobby.
I really like the aged/vintage feel to this card, I struggle with this type of card and won't admit quite how long it took for me to finish it! LOL

The inside is more dp and I added another flower cluster to the message mat.

I love the "tip toeing" Tilda is doing in this image, she wants to be the 1st down to the Christmas Tree this year :)

Have a great rest of your Sunday and if you have some crafting time be sure to join us over at Pile It On.

Challenge #6 at Cooking It Up! - New Christmas Tilda

Happy Turkey Day!
I don't know if you'll read this today or tomorrow but I wish you and yours all the best and hug them and be Thankful for what you have as you never know when it will change.
It's time for another challenge at my Cooking It Up With Katie blog!
This weeks recipe is a simple one;

Use a brad
Use something in 3's (as in 3 flowers, 3 ribbons, 3 words etc)
Use Red

See I told you it was easy!
Obviously I don't do cards with just one challenge so here are a few more this works for:

Sketch and Stash gave me the sketch
Paper Play want you to "Read All About It" and use paper with text
Pile It On wants to see Rub On's
Opus Gluei had a theme of Sweetie Pie
Paper Maniac wants you to "Use Those Flowers"
Magnolia Down Under wants a Christmas Card
Whimsy Stamps also want a Christmas Card
Creative Friday had a recipe of (if my German serves me correct!) 2 different papers, 3 flowers, 1 embellishment, ribbon and the color Red
Everybody Art had a Christmas Theme

I am super excited to use one of the brand new Holiday Tilda stamps by Magnolia. I ordered 5 from the new collection and for this card I chose Christmas Party Tilda and I think if she was colored in different colors she'd work for birthdays too so she's a great buy!
I stamped her twice and colored her with Copic's. Then I cut one out and popped her on top for extra dimension.
The dp are from the Jolly Holiday paper stack from Hobby Lobby.
The flowers are from Brides and the spotted brads are The Paper Studio.
I don't remember where the Happy Holidays rub on came from I'm afraid.
The border punch is the Deco Fan from Martha Stewart and the Holly ribbon is from Michaels.

Inside is more of the Happy Holidays dp and a ribbon topped message mat.

I hope you can the see the depth on Tilda now she's popped up :)

I hope you like this one and I'd love to see you join in at my Cooking It Up With Katie Challenge!

Happy Thanksgiving! Sketch #12 for Delightful Sketches

Happy Turkey Day Everyone!!
I hope you have time between the veggies and the pies to come and take a look at all the new creations from the Digital Delights Team!
I can't believe we are at Delightful Sketches Sketch #12 already!

This time I chose the adorable Kitty In Santa Hat and I hope it helps wih the Holiday Mood!

I have a few other challenges along with this one.

PollyCraft wanted a Christmas Card
The Pink Elephant had a recipe of Something Plaid, Any number of Brads and No Ribbon
Incy Wincy had a theme of "Anything Goes!"
Sparkle Creations wanted a Christmas Card
Daring Cardmakers want to see things that begin with the "1st Letter of your Name" so for me that would be "K"
Copic Creations want to see Gold so I colored the bows Gold

I chose Basic Grey for my dp but this time it's the Fruitcake Collection.
I colored the cute Kitty with Copic's and added Tulip Puffy Paint to the hat trim and pom pom.
I used the Deco Fan border punch by Martha Stewart for the trim.
The sentiment is an American Crafts vellum sticker.

The inside is more dp with a message mat with the coordinating punched border.

Sshhh don't wake her up!

I hope you've enjoyed this card and I hope you'll have fun with the sketch at Delightful Sketches.

Let's get Stitchy! - A new Pixie Cottage Challenge

Here is the 3rd and final post for today.
This time at The Pixie Cottage it's a technique challenge and we want to see you Get Stitchy! It doesn't matter whether you get out your machine, thread a needle, grab a pen, stamp a line or even use a rub on, as long as it's a stitch it counts!

Obviously there are a few other challenges that I added along the way :)
Mojo Monday was where I chose the sketch
Artful Inkables want to see Chipboard and so do Belli
Colour Q had a color combo of Bravo Burgundy, Bashful Blue, Old Olive, Always Artichoke and a Neutral. The colors are based on the Figgy Pudding paper by Basic Grey.
Copic's Colour had a combo of E29 Burnt Umber, YR16 Apricot and G99 Olive all of which I used to color the image.
Creative Card Crew wants Favorite Things and one of mine is definitely Basic Grey paper! LOL
Flourishes also had a Christmas theme
PaperTake also had a "Christmas Crackers" theme.

I chose to use the brand new Winter Window by Sandra Hammer that coordinates with the wonderful door you've seen me use before. It is the perfect size for the Holiday Tilda's to stand by but I love the image so much that I wanted to use it on its own.
I color it with Copic's using wnat I learned in class and the fabulous Shadow Tutorial by Marianne Walker to help me with the shading/shadows.
The color scheme was taken from the Figgy Pudding collection by Basic Grey but I don't have any of that and their Dasher collection works just as well :)
The two border punches for the scallops are EK Success and the chipboard letters are We R Memory Keepers.

The inside is more coordinating dp and a ribbon topped message mat.

Here is a close up of the window. I tried to color it to look like there was a light on inside the building and it was casting warm shadows on both the window and the tree outside.

I'd love to see how "Stitchy" you can get so go and create and enter the challenge at
The Pixie Cottage

La La Lands Guest DT - A Recipe!

Happy Wednesday,
Here comes post #2!
November is racing by and tomorrow it's Thanksgiving!
In honor of all that cooking you'll be doing over at La La Lands we have a recipe for you to use to create your next card! LOL
We'd like to see 3 patterned papers, 2 colors of cardstock (1 can be a neutral), and 1 type of embellishment.

As usual I have a few challenges to work along side this one.
Friday Sketchers gave me the sketch
Three Clovers wanted a Christmas Card with "No Red or Green"
Fun With Shapes wanted an Image of a Gift on your project
Allsorts wanted a Christmas Carol or Christmas Song
Ildi Co also wanted a Christmas Song inspiration

Now although this is a Christmas Card I didn't use a Christmas stamp :)
I used the fabulous Birthday LaLa which I think looks just as good dressed up for Christmas as she does for a birthday. I love stamps that you can get dual use out of and many of the LaLa Lands stamps do that, perfect for stretching your stamping $$!

Inside is more dp and a message mat with a few sparkly rhinestones!

I wonder what Lala has in her box?
Have a great Thanksgiving tomorrow and don't eat too much!
If you have a moment amongst the chaos tomorrow check back for more new cards :)

Be sure to be Thankful this week

Just a little message to say be sure to be Thankful for everything you have and hug those around you.
This morning my husband lost his job and with 3 children and him being the breadwinner it makes the immediate future a little uncertain so say the least.
This was not "on the cards" in the slightest and came totally out of the blue.
We already have the Turkey and trimmings for Thursday and will make the most of us all being together. If you have a few good thoughts spare, I'd really appreciate them and I want to say how Thankful I am to have made such wonderful friends through my blog and my cards.
Love to you all.

Merry Christmas from Cute Daisy May

Happy Monday!
This weeks's theme at Cute Daisy May is Christmas in Red!
Be sure to check out all the stamps that Linnie designs as there are some freebies on there right now too!
I didn't approach making this card any differently than I usually do but for some reason it just came out (in my eyes) so beautifully and I can't wait to show it to you!

I chose a few challenges to go with this card as well:
Charisma Cardz gave me the sketch
Dare U 2 Digi want to see Glitter
Crafty Catz wanted to see the word "Celebrate" on the card
Crafty Creations wanted Metal or a Metallic Finish

I used an image from Sheet 115 for this card.
I've been taking some Copic classes at a local store with the fabulous Frank Vento and for some reason today it all fell into place, the colors blended like I wanted them too, the shadows were in the right places and I just fell in love with the results! (I'm typing this up on Friday lunchtime so you can guess what I'll be playing at all weekend! LOL).
I loved all the glittery and metallic finishes together, so festive!
The glittered paper on the bottom layer is from the fabulous Peppermint Forest stack exclusive to Joanns. The metallic papers are from American Crafts in their Christmas Foil Speciality Paper pack from Hobby Lobby. I tried to find you a link but nowhere seems to sell it online. I embossed the red panel with the HSN Exclusive Cuttlebug Snowflake Holiday embossing folder. It was the first time for me embossing metallic paper but it won't be the last! LOL
The gold punched border is from the Deco Fan punch by Martha Stewart.
I printed the sentiment and matted it on the scalloped Nestie and then raised it on a pop dot. The ribbon is an old Christmas one from who knows how long ago!
Finally I added some Pearl 3D paint to his hat and cuffs.

Inside there is more of the wonderful dp and a message mat with another punched border and ribbon.

Here is a close up of the little helper Elf, wouldn't we all like one of these around at this time of year!

I hope I've started your Thanksgiving week off well and keep safe!

Pixie Cottage Showcase

Hi and Happy Weekend!
It's time for another showcase at The Pixie Cottage and the Design Team have come up with some super ideas for the new stamps.
Stamps are arriving almost daily at Michelle's Scrapbooking so be sure to go over and check to see if your favorite is there.
This time the team could decide to use whichever theme they liked for their project but as I'm in the Holiday Mood I kept with the Christmas theme.
There are a few challenges this fits as well:
The Crafty Pad had a recipe of 1 circle, 2 ribbons, 3 papers, 4 gems and some sparkle
Corrosive Challenges wanted to see some Embossing
Little Paper Shop wanted a Die Cut and I used Spellbinders to make my hang tag
Colour Create had the combo of Green, Red and White with the option of Christmas
Whimsy Stamps wanted "Anything But A Card" and the same challenge was at Crafty Angels
Challenge Up Your Life wanted a Festive Box/Package
Die Cut Dreams want to see Santa!
Stamp With Fun had a Christmas theme
Creatalicious wanted "Something for Christmas and some Sparkle!"
2 Red Bananas had a sketch that worked for the front of my tin.
Kaboodle Doodles wanted Buttons, Bows and Bling
Creative Inspirations wants some "Sparkle"

This time I chose The Jolly Old Elf by Alisa Ramirez and he was so much fun to work with!
I decided not to make a card but instead did an altered lunchbox that could be used for all sorts of things at this time of year. You could leave cookies in it for Santa on Christmas Eve, save cards, notes, receipts etc in it or fill it with treats to give as a gift.
I colored him with Copic's and then gave him the "Puffy Paint Treatment" all over his "fluffy bits".

I covered the handle with fabulous Christmas ribbons (wired ones work best) and tied one in a bow right in the middle of the handle.

Here you can see a close of Santa in all his fluffy fineness! LOL

I added an embossed image as a "hangtag" and I love how the white core of the cardstock shows through on the image. It is mounted on an Inverted Scallop circle Nestie and also has star buttons on it's "tail".

On the lid I added a floral pick from last year, it's got fake candy on it too to add a sweet touch! When creating projects remember there are many places you can find things that may work for you.

I hope you've enjoyed my little project and be sure to check out all the fabulous work of the designers at The Pixie Cottage today!

Celebrate Today - A Pink Christmas Card with a difference!

Happy Thursday!
Well you'll never believe it, this card is just for me! No Design Team commitment this time, just simply cardmaking for the pure pleasure of it!
I'll admit it was a struggle to make the image look "Christmasy" but sometimes we need to stretch ourselves so we remember it's not always "easy street"! LOL

Now just because I didn't make this for a team doesn't mean I did use some challenges!
Stamp Artic wanted a Pink Christmas Card
Magnolia-licious Highlites want a Magnolia card with Accessories only, no characters
Just Magnolia gave me the sketch
Fab's Big Christmas wants you to make a stamped background paper
Jacksonbelle Embellishments had a photo inspiration and I chose this dress with Pink and Snowflakes
Tuesday Morning Sketches had a recipe of 3 papers, 2 embellishments and 1 flourish. 2 Basic Grey papers and the stamped paper, the circle tags and snowflakes and the flourish are the flower strands in the image.
Kraftin Kimmie wanted
"Lotsa Circles" and I think the sketch has lots!

The challenge to use a Magnolia accessory stamp was hard for me as I don't have few many of them and certainly not many that would "stand alone" as a card image.
But I've always liked this watering can and I hope I managed to make it look "Christmasy" enough. I didn't ink up the part with the butterfly as that would be too "Spring" and I tried to color the leaves and flowers to look a little like Holly and Poinsettias. I used vellum snowflake stickers by The Paper Studio and used Tulip Puffy Paint in White to make the snow. I painted it on in tiny swirls and then used my Marvy Heat Gun to gentley puff it up. It takes a gentle hand so you don't burn the paint as Heat Gun's are hot!!!
The dp are from , wait for it, the Eskimo Kisses collection by Basic Grey!.
I used a Studio G $1 stamp to make the Holly panel and topped that with a border from the Valentines Lace border punch by Martha Stewart.
The acrylic letters are The Paper Studip and the snowflakes were white but I colored them with a Copic marker.
The "Celebrate today" sentiment is an Inspirable by EK Success.

The inside is more dp and a message mat with a coordinating snowflake.

Here you can see a close up, and I just love the Puffy Paint!
Anyway, I hope you've liked today's card, be back tomorrow for a Digital Delights freebie and on Saturday I've got a great new project for The Pixie Cottage.
Thanks for stopping by!

Super Sweet! Time for a new My Grafico sketch challenge!

Happy Wednesday!
Time for another sketch challenge at My Grafico

The Design Team got to work with a fabulous set called Sweety Girls

I did manage a couple challenges to go along with it.
PaperCutz wanted "Anything with a stamped or digital image"!
Crafty Cardmakers had the theme of "As Clear as Day" so I used clear Dewdrops that I colored red with a Copic
Die Cuts R Us wanted a "Girly Project"
Handfull Of Stamps wanted a Holiday Card
Tuesday Taggers had a color combo of Red, Green and Gold

The dp and sentiment are from a pack by Colorbok.
The Poinsettia flowers are from Hobby Lobby in the Christmas department.
The Dew Drops started life clear but I colored them with the R39 Copic to match the dp.

Inside is more dp and another Poinsettia.

Although the image was not designed to be a Christmas it shows that by chosing your colors you can turn things to be just the way you want it to be :)

I'd love to see what you can do with the My Grafico sketch so have a go and enter the challenge!
