It's Your Turn for the Remote - Card for my Dad

Happy Saturday Everyone!
We have a very busy day ahead with a special "Meet the players, have some fun and some food" event at the Frisco Roughriders Baseball that our daughter was invited to after being recognized as an "Educational MVP" at her school.
Then as soon as that is done we'll be whizzing back home for the England V US game, with lots of loud shouting and maybe a few beers too! Then tomorrow morning hubby and our oldest son go off to Scout Camp for a week so there will be all the last minute stuff to finish for that, I'll be in need of a break too!
So yesterday I managed to make the card that is now winging its way "across the pond" to my Dad in England (don't worry he doesn't check my blog)
It is a lot more simple than my usual cards as postage is so expensive for the square, lumpy, bumpy cards especially Air Mail. And also every time I send a square card home it takes weeks instead of days.

Challenges:
The Shabby Tea Room - Just For Dad
Cards For Men - Fathers Day
Double Dutch - Fathers Day
Tellens Place - Fathers Day
Tanda Stamps - Fathers Day
My Partner in Crafting Crime - Fathers Day
Simple Doodles - Just for You Dad
One Stitch at a Time - Boys to Men
Creative Craft Challenges - For The Man in Your Life
Always Playing With Paper - Fathers Day (their very first challenge!)
Paper Cutz - Fathers Day
Drunken Stampers - Fathers Day
Incy Wincy - Paper Piecing a digi
Just For Fun - Olive, Light Blue and Tan

Card Recipe:
Image - Dad's Remote from The Digi Shack
Paper - DCWV The Guy Stack
Medium - Copic Markers
Sentiment - Printed in Harrington font

I thought I'd add a little special surprise inside :)

Here is a close up of the paper piecing.
I actually used the same image last year for the card for my hubby so I think I better find a different one for him this year ;)
Have a wonderful weekend!

Anything But A Card - A Gift for Dad

Happy Sunday,
I hope you are all having a great weekend, it's be raining here and it has slowed dh's deck project but hopefully it will be done soon!
I've always loved altering items and thought it was about time I put down the cards and made something else.
This one is made for a Dad and was fun to make.

I used a few challenges to help me:

For Fun - Anything But A Card (with a stamp not a digi)
Crafts And Me - Anything But A Card
One Stitch at a Time - Anything But a Card
Crafty Creations - Around the World (the stamp is of an English Pub)
Stamptacular Sunday - Lovely as a Tree (tree image needed)
Color Throwdown - Baja Breeze, So Saffron, Old Olive and Kraft
Tellens Place - Tag Your It
A Crafty Little Place - Sketch
Cards For Men - Outdoors
Everybody Art - Make A Gift
Shabby Tea Room - Chipboard (tag and box are chipboard)
Crazy 4 Challenges - Pocket
Scrap Stamp and Doodle - Masculine

Recipe:
Paper - K&Co
Book Box - Hobby Lobby
Felt ribbon - Hobby Lobby
Image - Country Pub by Kadoodle Stamps
Medium - Copic Markers
Sentiment quote - Making Memories
Buttons - Dress It Up

I kept the box unpainted as I thought it went with the color scheme better.
You can add your gift inside the book.

I covered the spine with a felt stitched ribbon that I thought made it look like it was bound leather and added the same ribbon to the top of the chipboard gift tag.

I hope you like this, it was super easy to make and very inexpensive, the box was on sale, only $1.50!

Have a great rest of your Sunday.

Love and Best Fishes!

Happy Tuesday!
I'm trying to build up my stash of male themed birthday cards and when I want a good man card I always turn to my Dustin Pike images first!
He is a super artist and the humor in his work always makes me smile, I hope it does for you too!

I used a few challenges to help me with this:

I Love Digi wanted 3 papers, 2 brads and 1 embellishment
Alota Rubber Stamps wanted 3 of something, 2 of something and 1 of something else!
Sweet Stampin want a Card for a Man
A Spoonfull of Sugar want One For The Boys
Cards For Men want Humor
Stampin B's want a Funny Card
CCEE want Silly Critters
Charisma want Animal Magic (anyone remember Johnny Morris?)
Magical Crafts want Animal Antics
Our Creative Corner had a Sketch
Pixie Dust want Black, White and another color

Card Recipe:
Image - Dustin Pike
Paper - DCWV
Die Cuts - Spellbinders
Medium - Copic Markers
Border Punch - EK Success
Brads - The Paper Studio
Sentiment - Printed
Bow - Unknown

I printed and colored another image of the fish and bowl and popped it on top to give a more dimension to the card.
The sentiment is a play on the "Love and Best Dishes" that Paula Dean always says at the end of her show and I thought it added just enough humor for it to work with any one.

I hope this card gave you a smile, be back tomorrow for a new Pixie Cottage card and challenge :)

So many challenges, so little time!

Happy Sunday,
If you've been following me for even just a little while you'll have noticed that I like to play on the challenge blogs.
Some people think I take it a little too far at times, and sometimes I'll agree with them! LOL But it is so much fun finding the challenges (I have a book with close to 300 challenge blogs in it) and working out which ones work together. It also takes me out of my creative box at times, making me try things I wouldn't do otherwise. Surprisingly I don't play for the prizes although there have been a few that I see and say "oh I'd love to win that one", but if I do win a prize it is received lovingly and is a bonus.
I've made online friends through my challenge searching and playing and I want to Hi! say to all of them!
This week there have been so many great sketches that I just had to have a day with a few of my "just because" creations.

Hoppin' By To Say...It's Freebie Friday!

Happy Friday!
It's time for another Digital Delights freebie and this one is one you'll use over and over again.
It works for birthdays for all ages and with it being a digital image it means you can print it as large or as small as you want it, each time just how you want it!
You can see the image being used at The Freebie Friday Page!

Just a reminder that you can now find the freebies at our groups at Papercraft Planet and SNR Card Universe All you have to do is join one or both of our groups and the image is yours. You can find it under the subject Freebie Friday in the discussions area!!) Be sure to become a follower of the groups of your choice so you can be sure to keep up to date with our fun happenings!!

I'm always in need of birthday cards so I decided to try this one out for myself along with a few challenges to help me out.

My Time To Craft wanted Green plus One
Cards For Men wanted Green too
The Wildflower Patch want Green also
Die Cuts R Us wanted No Designer Paper
Papertake wanted you to "Check This Out" with checks or gingham on your project
Peachy Keen had a Sketch

Tellens Place had a Birthday theme
Penny's also wanted Birthdays
My Grafico wanted Plaid so I used my Plaid embossing folder

Card Recipe:

Image - Alvin The Toad
Cardstock - DCWV
Medium - Copic Markers
Brads - The Paper Studio
Border Punch - Martha Stewart
Embossing Folder - Plaid by Cuttlebug

Inside is a message mat. Obviously as one of the challenges was no DP this is very plain inside.

After I colored him I went over the tummy with YG00 to give a mottled effect as Toads are usually a little "warty" but I didn't want to distract from his cuteness too much! LOL
Don't you know a boy who'd love this card for his birtday?
And with the Birthday Circle Sentiment you can use it anytime you need a Birthday card!

So go and grab the Birthday sentiment freebie and get creating!
