Anything Goes! 2 new Busy Beauties Cards!

Happy Friday!
There is a story behind these cards:)
It started with a challenge win at Penny's Challenge that introduced me to the wonderful creations at Busy Beauties! I got 5 new images from them and just had to give one a try right away. With that card I entered their challenge and low and behold I won! So I got more of the wonderful images!
Then move on to another challenge that I'm a team member on. We had a challenge but the images we needed to use were held up and I really needed to get my card finished. So I made the card with all but the image and I colored in two substitute images in case the original didn't turn up in time. Well just as I'd finished the two images the original popped up in my inbox! So I was left with two cute colored images and no cards to put them on.
I didn't put them away though, I left them on my desk as I so wanted to do something with them.
I had a day away from crafting on Wednesday to do a very late (and very needed) Spring Clean but yesterday I was determined to create a couple of dazzlers to share with y'all (said in my very best Texas accent ;))

Have an Awesome Birthday Dude! - Oh those teen years!

Happy Sunday everyone,
It's the last day of February and time for a "Just Because" card.
A few weeks ago I won a challenge at Tellens Place and along with my prize pack of goodies I had my choice of 2 of their digital stamps!
Well I can't let a good image sit still for long so I printed it out and got to work on a card.

Obviously it wouldn't be a Katie Card without a list of challenges too!

Tellens Place had an open week as long as you used one of their images
Gingersnaps want a Birthday Card
ABC Design also had a Birthday theme
Quixotic wanted One For The Boys
Pixie Dust want you to Think Birthday
Tuesday Morning Sketches had a color combo of Light Orange, Dark Brown & Ivory
Design Dollies want Orange, Brown and a Neutral
Midnight Madness had your choice of Simple or Fancy sketch
Clearly I Stamp said It's Hip To Be Square and wanted a square card (and they are sponsored by Clear Dollar Stamps who are giving away a great prize!)

Card Recipe

Image - Earphones Edward
Paper - DCWV (some of it really old! LOL)
Ribbon - Little Davis
Brads - The Paper Studio for Hobby Lobby
Die Cuts - Spellbinders
Medium - Copic Markers
Border punch - Bubbles by EK Success

Inside is more dp and a message mat.

I checked with my "soon to be a teen" son if this was too girly and he said "no, if boys can wear pink they can wear peach", oh the wisdom of youth! LOL
I'm so not a boy card maker but have recently been called on to create some more manly cards and you know what? I kinda like the challenge :)
I hope you've liked looking at him too and have a great rest of your Sunday.
Be sure to drop back tomorrow for 3, yes 3 posts, with lots of new creations.

Cute Daisy May - Lavender and Lace

Happy Monday,
It's time for another theme at Cute Daisy May Challenge and this time it was chosen by Design Team member Wendy.
You can see her wonderful work at her blog, Crafty Butterfly.

I found a couple of challenges to go along with this one.

Design Dollies wanted Vintage
Everybody Art wanted a Thank You card
Moving Along With the Times had a sketch and a Childhood Memories theme
Sweet Stamping had a Floral Fantasy!
Daring Cardmakers had a theme of Feburary's Birthstone; Amethyst
Cupcake Inspiration helped with the colors
Paper Jewels had their 1st challenge and it is "Cute and Girly"
Pinkle Art wanted Roses
Crafty Cardmakers wanted Digital Delights

I chose this image of Daisy gardening from Sheet 167 and colored her with Copic's, the list of colors is below. I cut her with a Label Nestie.
I used a selection of dp and inked all the edges to enhance the Vintage feel.
I also used the new Paper Lace Martha Stewart punch along with her Doily Lace border punch.
The flowers came from the fantastic Wild Orchid Crafts.I'd seen the UK ladies using these in adundance and just had to give them a try. They are super flowers and were shipped really fast, less than one week from ordering to receiving, can't get better!
The sentiment is from a Studio G $1 set.

Inside is more dp and a message mat.

Here is Daisy and the colors I used.

Design Dollies gave me the sketch
Paper Play had a recipe of 2 papers, 1 ribbon and 3 buttons

Three Clovers wanted to see Birds or Bugs and I love this "Love Nest" paper from My Mind Eye's so it was perfect.
Paper Blooms had their last challenge for a while and it was "Thankful"
ABC were at H is for Hidden so I used an envelope for a hidden message
365 Cards Day 257 had a photo inspiration that I took the colors from

I chose Sweet Lala for this card and I think she looks so happy to be telling you "Thank You!"
As mentioned before the dp are from the Love Nest stack by My Minds Eye, I think you can only get it at Hobby Lobby.

Thank You - Brand New Card for My Grafico

Happy Wednesday!
It's time for another sketch challenge at My Grafico and this week's theme is Thank You and the Design Team got to work with this wonderful floral set called Mix and Match Stems by Mujka Designs
Also remember to click on my photo banner at the top for details of my 20000th hit blog candy!
Kraftin Kimmie wanted the colors Brown, Rust and Green or Yellow
Everybody Art , The Crafty Pad and Crafty Cardmakers all had an Autumn theme and I thought the colors and the Thank You worked well for this.
Digital Tuesday had a color combo of Kraft, Orange and another color which really worked in with the others.
Bee Crafty wanted to see Distressing
PaperTake wanted Spots and Stripes and there are both on the dp
Design Dollies wanted Stripes too
Digital Ink had a recipe of Fabric, Glitter, a Button and a Bow. I used Fabric style paper, glitter in the center of the flowers, buttons on the side (and they are printed on the paper too) and I tied a bow around the flowers.
365 Cards Day 238 wanted to see Fine Twine, which I used on the wooden buttons.
Belli also wanted Raffia or Twine

I did something a litte different this time with the images. First I printed them in 3 different sizes as all flowers aren't the same size. Then I colored them with my Copic's. I then cut them out and I used a stylus and embossed the petals and folded the petals up towards the middle for depth. Finally I inked the edges for more dimension. The dp is from The Crafty Stack and it was perfect for the "fabric" part of one of the challenges.
The wooden buttons are just from the gazillions that I seemed to have amassed over the years.
The mat behind the flowers is Coredinations cardstock that has been embossed with Perfectly Paisley Cuttlebug folder. Then I sanded it down to reveal the color beneath and then inked over the raised areas.

The inside is more dp and a message mat.

Hopefully you can see the depth created by the embossing of the petals.

The Copic's I used to color the flowers are:
YR01 - Peach Puff
YR61 - Yellowish Skin Pink
Y38 - Honey
E25 - Caribe Cocoa
E37 - Sepia

I'd love to see you using the sketch at My Grafico so get creating and post them over there for us all to see. Who knows you may win the set for yourself!
