It's a double posting day today!
There is a fabulous new challenge at By The Cute and Girly and this time it's "At The Movies".
You can find so many things that this will work with. Maybe chose a favorite movie and be inspired by its Title or Theme. Or chose a favorite Actor to base your project on. Or make a super awesome Popcorn holder!

I added a few challenges to go with mine.

Friday Sketchers is where I chose the sketch from

Kraftin Kimmie had a "Touchy Feely" theme

The inspiration for my card this time is the movie "Chocolat". I chose this super image from this months sponsor Digi Sparkle who are offering a FABULOUS prize of a "Months Free Downloads"! That means you can have as many images as you can download in a month, the best prize I've seen around in ages!
I decided to Paper Piece the Hot Chocolate mug and then I popped it up.

Inside is more dp and a message mat.

Don't you just fancy a cup?

So be inspired by your favorite movie and join in the challenge this month!

Celebrate Today - A Pink Christmas Card with a difference!

Happy Thursday!
Well you'll never believe it, this card is just for me! No Design Team commitment this time, just simply cardmaking for the pure pleasure of it!
I'll admit it was a struggle to make the image look "Christmasy" but sometimes we need to stretch ourselves so we remember it's not always "easy street"! LOL

Now just because I didn't make this for a team doesn't mean I did use some challenges!
Stamp Artic wanted a Pink Christmas Card
Magnolia-licious Highlites want a Magnolia card with Accessories only, no characters
Just Magnolia gave me the sketch
Fab's Big Christmas wants you to make a stamped background paper
Jacksonbelle Embellishments had a photo inspiration and I chose this dress with Pink and Snowflakes
Tuesday Morning Sketches had a recipe of 3 papers, 2 embellishments and 1 flourish. 2 Basic Grey papers and the stamped paper, the circle tags and snowflakes and the flourish are the flower strands in the image.
Kraftin Kimmie wanted
"Lotsa Circles" and I think the sketch has lots!

The challenge to use a Magnolia accessory stamp was hard for me as I don't have few many of them and certainly not many that would "stand alone" as a card image.
But I've always liked this watering can and I hope I managed to make it look "Christmasy" enough. I didn't ink up the part with the butterfly as that would be too "Spring" and I tried to color the leaves and flowers to look a little like Holly and Poinsettias. I used vellum snowflake stickers by The Paper Studio and used Tulip Puffy Paint in White to make the snow. I painted it on in tiny swirls and then used my Marvy Heat Gun to gentley puff it up. It takes a gentle hand so you don't burn the paint as Heat Gun's are hot!!!
The dp are from , wait for it, the Eskimo Kisses collection by Basic Grey!.
I used a Studio G $1 stamp to make the Holly panel and topped that with a border from the Valentines Lace border punch by Martha Stewart.
The acrylic letters are The Paper Studip and the snowflakes were white but I colored them with a Copic marker.
The "Celebrate today" sentiment is an Inspirable by EK Success.

The inside is more dp and a message mat with a coordinating snowflake.

Here you can see a close up, and I just love the Puffy Paint!
Anyway, I hope you've liked today's card, be back tomorrow for a Digital Delights freebie and on Saturday I've got a great new project for The Pixie Cottage.
Thanks for stopping by!

Challenge #5 at Cooking It Up!

Happy Thursday!
Where are the weeks going?
I can't believe we are on Challenge #5 over at Cooking It Up With Katie!
For the last challenge I got 24 entrants and I hope to see more as the weeks go on.

I chose a few challenges to go along with my own.

Bee Crafty had a gorgeous photo inspiration
Digital Tuesday wanted you to send Holiday Wishes
Charisma Cardz had the theme of Merry and Bright
Pals Paperarts had a theme of Christmas Cheer
PaperTake wanted you to use both Digi and Sparkle on your card
365 Cards Day 251 wanted your Dream Duo, your two favorite colors to work with. I've always loved the look of Pink and Green together so this was an easy one :)
Sketch Saturday gave me the sketch
Digi Kitty wanted you to Punch It!
Paper Maniac want you to do something out of your comfort zone. As you'll read further on (and should know if you've been to my blog before) I'm really more a "Cutesy" than "Classic" card maker so to use a non-cute image really was a challenge to me.
Creative Inspirations wanted New or Neglected and the image was brand new, bought as I was actually making the card! LOL
Crazy 4 Challenges wanted an Easel card (my 3rd this week!!)and The Secret Crafter wanted Easel style too.

The recipe this week is:
a. Use a flower. If possible use it in a different way such as folded, as part of the pattern of the paper, embossed into the cardstock
b. Use something clear or see through/reflective. Examples are a Dew Drop, Rhinestone, Acetate, a window, a mirror
c. Choose a sketch from another challenge as your layout. This can be a current or past sketch, just be sure to say/link to it in your post.

It took me ages to chose and image and I printed a few out but as the card progressed I soon realized that cute would not work this time.
I don't have very many "classic" images as I'm quite a new stamper (just a year)so I turned to my favorite source, the digital stamps sites :)
I found this fabulous image at Sketching Stamper and knew right away that it was perfect.
The dp are Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses and the cardstock is Coredinations.
I used the Valentines Lace border punch from Martha Stewart and the flowers are from Brides.
I colored the image with Copic's and I actually changed the color of the Fimo accents (the flower centers were blue) with a Copic too.
There are two ribbons on there, one is hidden next to the punched border.
The sentiment (my favorite Christmas one so far this year) is by Studio G from the $1 spot at Joanns.

I really do love the Easel Style card and highly recommend you have a try at one for a special upcoming card.

I'd love to see what you do with my recipe over at Cooking It Up With Katie!

The Pixie Cottage Challenge #3 - A new Sketch

Here's the 3rd and final post for today!
It's time for another new challenge at The Pixie Cottage and this time it's another new sketch.

There are so many wonderful Pixie Cottage stamps to choose from but when I saw this one I just had to use it! It's drawn by the very talented Tish and was an absolute joy to color!

Of course I had add some other challenges along the way :)

Kraftin Kimmie wanted you to Stitch It Up, whether it be real or faux.
Daring Cardmakers wanted to see you Get Krafty and use Kraft paper somewhere on your card
Easy Breezy Kewl had a color combo of Ruby Red, Chocolate Chip, Kraft and Whisper White
Play Along Monday wanted Anything Christmas and so did Jacksonbelle Embellishments and Belli too!
Die Cuts R Us wanted you to "Emboss Something" so I used a new CB folder on the Kraft panel.

It's Rudolph fabulous? You can almost hear him telling Santa of everything that is one his list.
The dp are from My Minds Eye and are embossed and glittered giving an extra depth to the card.
The holly are wooden accents from Hobby Lobby and the ribbon is Michaels.
I used the one of the new Cuttlebug embossing folders on the Kraft panel.
The sentiment is Colorbok.
I added Glossy Accents to Rudolph's nose and Pearl puffy paint to Santa's beard, hat, cuffs and boot tops.
The paint reflected in the gloss on the photo so it looks liked they smudged but in real life all is well :)

The inside is more dp and a message mat.

Here is a better view of the happy pair and you can see no smudges here ;)
It's a great sketch to work with and I'd love to see what you make of it over at The Pixie Cottage

La La Lands Guest DT- Pink Challenge

Happy Wednesday!
I was very honored to be asked to join as a Guest Designer at La La Lands for November and December!
If you're a follower of mine you'll know that most weeks I join their challenges and have won on a few occasions too!
So it was easy to say yes and today is my very first card in my guesting role.
And the challenge was a super one for me as it was to use the color Pink!
Of course I had to add a few other challenges along the way.
Three Clovers wanted a card/project for a Teenager.
Stamps and Smiles gave me the sketch
Hand Full Of Stamps wanted 4 of something
Daring Cardmakers wanted you to Get Punchy
Fun With Shapes and More wanted Frames and Borders
Die Cuts R Us wanted you to "Nest Something"
Kraftin Kimmie said "Tag You're It!"
One Stop Craft wanted to see you use Text Paper
Saturday Spotlight wanted the theme of "In So Many Words" and I think the background text paper works here :)

I used the super cute Sweet LaLa and in fact she's the first LaLa Lands stamp I've created a card with!
I colored her twice with Copic's and cut out and popped up on image on the other for dimension.
I've used 3 different dp, 2 are DCWV and the other is a Paper Pizazz. I love that with card making you can use papers from years ago and as long as your style and design is current it all works!
I used fabric brads for the "4" challenge and I framed LaLa with a Nestie and added a border using the wonderful Valentines Lace border punch from Martha Stewart.
The sentiment is from The Paper Studio mounted on a vellum heart tag from Making Memories.

Inside is more dp and a message mat.

You cna see the shadow formed by the "popping" of LaLa and I hope you like her.
I'd love to see your Pink Creation so be sure to drop by La La Lands and join in the fun!

Thank You - Brand New Card for My Grafico

Happy Wednesday!
It's time for another sketch challenge at My Grafico and this week's theme is Thank You and the Design Team got to work with this wonderful floral set called Mix and Match Stems by Mujka Designs
Also remember to click on my photo banner at the top for details of my 20000th hit blog candy!
Kraftin Kimmie wanted the colors Brown, Rust and Green or Yellow
Everybody Art , The Crafty Pad and Crafty Cardmakers all had an Autumn theme and I thought the colors and the Thank You worked well for this.
Digital Tuesday had a color combo of Kraft, Orange and another color which really worked in with the others.
Bee Crafty wanted to see Distressing
PaperTake wanted Spots and Stripes and there are both on the dp
Design Dollies wanted Stripes too
Digital Ink had a recipe of Fabric, Glitter, a Button and a Bow. I used Fabric style paper, glitter in the center of the flowers, buttons on the side (and they are printed on the paper too) and I tied a bow around the flowers.
365 Cards Day 238 wanted to see Fine Twine, which I used on the wooden buttons.
Belli also wanted Raffia or Twine

I did something a litte different this time with the images. First I printed them in 3 different sizes as all flowers aren't the same size. Then I colored them with my Copic's. I then cut them out and I used a stylus and embossed the petals and folded the petals up towards the middle for depth. Finally I inked the edges for more dimension. The dp is from The Crafty Stack and it was perfect for the "fabric" part of one of the challenges.
The wooden buttons are just from the gazillions that I seemed to have amassed over the years.
The mat behind the flowers is Coredinations cardstock that has been embossed with Perfectly Paisley Cuttlebug folder. Then I sanded it down to reveal the color beneath and then inked over the raised areas.

The inside is more dp and a message mat.

Hopefully you can see the depth created by the embossing of the petals.

The Copic's I used to color the flowers are:
YR01 - Peach Puff
YR61 - Yellowish Skin Pink
Y38 - Honey
E25 - Caribe Cocoa
E37 - Sepia

I'd love to see you using the sketch at My Grafico so get creating and post them over there for us all to see. Who knows you may win the set for yourself!

Pass Me The Coffee - New Retro card for My Grafico

Happy Wednesday!
It's time for another sketch chalenge at My Grafico and this time the team got to use the fabulous Vintage Appliances set! I'll admit this was a little out of my comfort zone of "cute, cuter and even more cute" but once I had the right idea it was fun!
Of course I found a few challenges to go with the sketch which helped me along the way.

Colour Create had the combo of Red, Yellow, Black and White which I thought worked well for the vintage feel of the card and Paper Maniac wanted Black, White and a "Pop" of color so I thought they'd go together.
Etsy Inspired had a jewelry store for inspiration and I loved these Sparrows Nest Earrings and thought they had the perfect vintage touch.
Kraftin Kimmie wanted to see Buttons
Paper Play wanted you to use your Favorite Embellishment and I'll admit to having a soft spot for rhinestones at the moment, most of my cards have them, and there's pretty much always a punched border too!
The Secret Crafter wanted you to Dig Deep and bring out an old image but this one is "old style" but new to me but the papers certainly are old so I hope that counts.

I colored the Coffee pot with Copic's in a graphic/retro style that I hope I got right.
The dp are from my stash and I had to add a border from the fabulous Valentines Lace border punch from Martha Stewart. This was originally a Valentines only release and Michaels sold out of them immediately but Martha has just brought lots of new punches and thankful brought this one into the regular line! Yippee!!
I'm on a border punch kick right now so I can assure you that you'll be seeing lots in the next few weeks of cards :)
I printed the sentiment and double matted to match the color scheme. I hope I brought a little retro feel to this card, it's not a genre I'm familiar working with.

The inside is more dp and another border across the message mat.

I think we all know a friend who can be a bear without her coffee and I hope this brought a smile along the way.
