Challenge #7 at Cooking It Up!

Wow the weeks are flying by!
I can't believe we are on the 7th challenge at my Cooking It Up With Katie blog.
I'd love some more entrants and this could be the challenge to try as I'm offering a prize so run over and check it out!

The recipe is:
Use a Christmas theme
Add Ribbon
Use any current sketch challenge

Stampin For The Weekend want a Christmas card with Red, Green and Gold
Creative Card Crew also wanted Gold (or Silver)
Color Chef had the combo of Red, Green and Cream/White
Charisma had a color combo of Red, Green and White/Silver
Rosie Dees wanted Red, Green and Bling!
Sunflowers and Dragonflies had a theme of Merry Christmas
365 Cards Day 280 had the theme of "Candy Cane"
Cupcake Crafts had the theme of a "Christmas Carol"
Die Cuts R Us wanted a project with a "Holiday Feel"
Just Magnolia had a special monthly challenge of "Make a card for Someone Special", well I'd feel pretty special if I received this card.

I stamped Tilda Sitting With Candy and colored her with Copic's. Then I cut her out and made a present for her to sit on.
The dp is a mixture of Paper Studio and Joanns.
The border punch is from Martha Stewart.

The inside is more dp and a ribbon topped message mat.

Here is a close up of Tilda, all decked out for Christmas!
If you still have time before Christmas I'd love to see you over at Cooking It Up With Katie

Very Berry Christmas! A new card for My Grafico

Happy Hump Day!
This week at My Grafico we got to work with a fabulous set called Tutti Fruiti!.
I decided to keep with my Christmas theme and I hope it will give you a smile :)

We worked with a super sketch that I tweaked a little to work with a square card.

I found a few challenges along the way.
2 Red Bananas wanted a Christmas/Winter card
Sparkle Creations wanted any Christmas card as did Creative Card Crew
Crafty Cardmakers wanted an "Alternative" Christmas card, I think this one counts! LOL
Ooh La La wanted a Childs Christmas card
ResQ wanted Polka Dots (Alka Seltzer), Circles (Rolaids), Pink (Pepto) and a food elemenet
Digital Tuesday wanted to see Christmas Sparkle
Sunflowers and Dragonflies wanted Polka Dots

I printed out the Strawberry from the set 6 times and colored them. Then I cut them all out put pop dots on them. Once they were on the card (5 on the front and 1 inside) I added Stickles to their cheeks and stem/leaves to match the glttered papers.
The dp is from the Peppermint Forest Stack from Joanns.
The ribbon is Michaels, the buttons are The Paper Studio and the border punch is Martha Stewart Douple Loops.

The inside is more dp with a message mat and another cute Strawberry!

So another "different" Christmas card, I hope it shows you can adapt stamps/images that you already have to fit with lots of occasions, more bang for your buck!
Be sure to check back later for another new card as today is a double posting day.

Time to Pile On the Challenges!!

Happy Sunday and Happy November!
I can't believe it's another new month, Thanksgiving will be here soon and then Christmas!
It's time for another card with a bundle of challenges, yes it's a new Pile It On card!
This time the Design Team had a theme of Thank You.

Cupcake Crafts gave me the sketch
Gingersnap GC27 had a Color Challenge of Orange, Green and Brown
Treehouse Stamps had a color combo that worked too of Crushed Curry, Dusty Durango, Soft Suede and a neutral
The PlayDate Cafe had a color combo of Orange, Yellow and Brown
Magnolia Down Under wanted to see the Distressing technique.
Flourishes wanted Border Punches
Sunflowers and Dragonflies had a "Flower Power" theme
Crafty Creations had a Give Thanks/Thanksgiving theme
Stampin B's Thanksgiving theme
Gingersnap GC28 also has a Thankfulness theme
Cuttlebug Challenge wanted a Favorite thing and so I chose my trusty Swiss Dots folder!
Whimsical Ink wanted Embossing
Alphabet Challenge had C for Circles (the buttons are circles)
Scrapbox wanted to see Circles too!

Now this was a new technique for me, I stamped my image on Kraft colored paper and used my Copic's on that. It gives a different look and I think it works really well for this style/theme of card.
The image is called Stylish Tilda and I do think she has a ton of style!
The dp is Bo Bunny for the background and the brown word paper is DCWV.
The sentiment is 7 Gypsies. The flowers are Prima and the clear buttons are from Basic Grey.
The brown panel is embossed with Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder and punched with the Martha Stewart Valentines Lace border punch.
The edges of the panel, background and mats are all inked with Chalk Ink.
Finally the ribbon is Michaels from this years Christmas collection.

The inside is more Bo Bunny dp and a message mat topped with ribbon.

Coloring on Kraft paper gives a different look but I think it is worth a try!
I'd love to see your creations on the Thanks theme, please go and post them over at Pile It On

My Grafico Card for Breast Cancer Awareness

Happy Wednesday!
I hope you didn't think I'd abandoned the My Grafico Challenge when you didn't see my card on Monday.
We have split into 2 teams and now my cards will be seen on Wednesday.
Plus it means you have two different choices when it comes to entering as the Monday Challenge will be a Color Challenge and the Wednesday will be a Sketch Challenge so you can chose whichever suits you best!
It's much better for me to be on a Wednesday anyway as I have another team on a Monday and each card really needs a day of it's own :)
This week we are honoring everyone who has been affected by Breast Cancer will our creations.
I chose this wonderful clip art set by Kelly Medina instead of digital stamps this week. I hope I can show that you still make it look "your own" if you dress it up.

I tried to find some challenges to go with this piece but it was a struggle this week.
3 Clovers wanted us to Think Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Sunflowers and Dragonflies wanted Sparkle and Shine
CupCake Crafts had the theme of Thanks a Bunch and while this card could be a "thinking of you" card it could just as well be a Thank You card.
Crafty Catz wanted to see Butterflies
Crafty Card Makers wanted to see Ribbons
Finally Flutterby Wednesdays had a free for all as long as it had a fairy or butterfly!

I printed the clip art with the butterfly flying above the flower trio.
The dp is Martha Stewart from her baby girl block at Walmart. I added rhinestones to the centers of the flowers and added heart rhinestones to the side. I used a Fiskars border punch and made strips to fit around the side of the card. The sentiment is a Studio G $1 stamp from Michaels and I stamped it with Bamboo Memento ink.

The inside is more dp with a message mat.

I hope to see you join in with the sketch at the My Grafico Challenge!
