Just For You Mum! - Adapting a Fall Stamp for Spring

Happy Tuesday!
It's snowing here in TX!!! (well it is a little South of us and it should be with us soon)
And to celebrate I'm doing a card just because I can :)
There are lots of challenges I wanted to work with this week so I made another card to go in the box of "someday I'll send it"

These are the ones this one covers:

Friday Sketchers had a fabulous sketch
Cutie Stampers wanted Yellow and Birthday
Pennys wanted Birthday
Quixotic wanted Something for Mum
Magical Crafts wanted Something for Mum too
Secret Crafter had a Mum theme too
Cuttlebug Challenges wanted Stitching (I did faux) (and a CB product)
Inky Impressions want you to Think Spring
Belli wanted Butterflies (one on the hatpin)
ABC Design had a Birthday theme
Stamp With Fun want Stitching
Practical Scrappers want to see Stamps
Flourishes want Flowers
Jacksonbelle want Flowers too!

Card Recipe

Image - Fall Friends (I had to do a very delicate "ink job" on the stamp so that the Pumpkin part didn't stamp so I could replace it with flowers)
Paper - K&Co
Flowers - Wild Orchid Crafts
Embossing folder - Cuttlebug Happy Birthday

Inside is more dp and a faux stitched message mat.

I hope this shows that this super cute Scarecrow stamp from Fall can be adapted to fit another season.
Try the technique for yourself, it opens up a whole new use for your seasonal stamps!

Pixie Cottage Showcase - Anything But A Card

Happy Saturday!
It's time for another showcase of cards at The Pixie Cottage and this time the team was challenged to make "Anything But Card". There is some fabulous work over there and I urge you to drop over and take a look :)
While you are there check out the "Once Upon a Wednesday" challenge that is running at the moment and it's "Get Stitchy" theme.
Making something other than a card is always fun for me as I was into scrapbooking and altering stuff way before I started making cards and it's nice to swap out the techniques.

I found a few other challenges to go with this one too.

The Pink Elephant had the theme of "Color Me Wonderful" and wanted your favorite method of coloring
Stamp With Fun had a Christmas theme
Rosie and Dees wanted Red and Green and a Bit of Bling!
Incy Wincy also wanted Red and Green
Sophisticat wanted Snowflakes and Sparkle
Stamp With Sarah Kay had a Christmas theme
Creative Card Crew had a Christmas theme
Gingersnaps had a Winter Wonderland theme and so did Cuttlebug Spot
3 Clovers wanted Gifts (no cards)
My Time To Craft had a theme of "Winter Pals"
Crafty Calendar had a theme of Winter Sparkle
Lots to Do had a Snow theme

I used a wooden plaque for this Christmas Decoration and the image fitted perfectly with it!
I colored this fantastic image by Artish with Copic's and added Puffy Paint for the snow on the tree and the snowballs. This stamp is on it's way to Michelle right now so be sure to check back to order it.
I embossed the snowflake circle onto American Crafts wonderful foil cardstock, the Cuttlebug works great on this.
I then matted the circles on Pinking Circle Nesties.
The rhinestones are Michaels $1 spot and the letters are Spare Parts from Hobby Lobby.

Here is a close up of the super cute group of Snow Buddies!
Be sure to check out all the wonderful work of the rest of the team at The Pixie Cottage!

Pile It On - Flowers and Flourishes

Happy Sunday!
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and if you went shopping on Black Friday that you got what you wanted :)
This weeks challenge at Pile It On is to include both Flowers and Flourishes in your project.

The other challenges that fit this are:
ResQ Challenge wanted you to use felt
Creative Inspirations was where I chose the sketch from.
A Spoon Full of Sugar had a color combo of Brown with either Blue or Pink
My Time To Craft had a theme of "Very Vintage"
Created By Hand had a theme of "I'm Blue"
Etsy Inspired had a wonderful inspiration store and I chose this gorgeous scarf from the Barefoot Weaver store
Crafty Creations had a Christmas theme
Lil Red Wagon wanted Buttons
Cuttlebug Challenge want to see Glitter
Stamping Vacation had a "Pick 3" theme and I chose Buttons (around the mat), Glitter (on the dp) and Pearls (tiny ones on the ribbon)
Tuesday Taggers had a theme of Festival of Light
Winter Wonderland wanted to see a Candle and Tilda is holding one.
Fabs Big Christmas wanted "Ladylike Christmas" as the theme

I chose another of the new Jolly Holly Holiday Collection MAgnolia stamps for this card. This little beauty is called Christmas Morning Tilda and I colored her with Copic's. Then I cut her out and popped her up on the circle.
I used dp from The Fruitcake collection by Basic Grey and the glitteres stripe is from the Laundry Line by My Minds Eye. I aged the chipboard flourishes with 3 different chalk inks until I got it just how I wanted it. The big flower is Prima and the felt flower from Hobby Lobby.
I really like the aged/vintage feel to this card, I struggle with this type of card and won't admit quite how long it took for me to finish it! LOL

The inside is more dp and I added another flower cluster to the message mat.

I love the "tip toeing" Tilda is doing in this image, she wants to be the 1st down to the Christmas Tree this year :)

Have a great rest of your Sunday and if you have some crafting time be sure to join us over at Pile It On.

Time to Pile On the Challenges!!

Happy Sunday and Happy November!
I can't believe it's another new month, Thanksgiving will be here soon and then Christmas!
It's time for another card with a bundle of challenges, yes it's a new Pile It On card!
This time the Design Team had a theme of Thank You.

Cupcake Crafts gave me the sketch
Gingersnap GC27 had a Color Challenge of Orange, Green and Brown
Treehouse Stamps had a color combo that worked too of Crushed Curry, Dusty Durango, Soft Suede and a neutral
The PlayDate Cafe had a color combo of Orange, Yellow and Brown
Magnolia Down Under wanted to see the Distressing technique.
Flourishes wanted Border Punches
Sunflowers and Dragonflies had a "Flower Power" theme
Crafty Creations had a Give Thanks/Thanksgiving theme
Stampin B's Thanksgiving theme
Gingersnap GC28 also has a Thankfulness theme
Cuttlebug Challenge wanted a Favorite thing and so I chose my trusty Swiss Dots folder!
Whimsical Ink wanted Embossing
Alphabet Challenge had C for Circles (the buttons are circles)
Scrapbox wanted to see Circles too!

Now this was a new technique for me, I stamped my image on Kraft colored paper and used my Copic's on that. It gives a different look and I think it works really well for this style/theme of card.
The image is called Stylish Tilda and I do think she has a ton of style!
The dp is Bo Bunny for the background and the brown word paper is DCWV.
The sentiment is 7 Gypsies. The flowers are Prima and the clear buttons are from Basic Grey.
The brown panel is embossed with Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder and punched with the Martha Stewart Valentines Lace border punch.
The edges of the panel, background and mats are all inked with Chalk Ink.
Finally the ribbon is Michaels from this years Christmas collection.

The inside is more Bo Bunny dp and a message mat topped with ribbon.

Coloring on Kraft paper gives a different look but I think it is worth a try!
I'd love to see your creations on the Thanks theme, please go and post them over at Pile It On

Halloween - A New Cute Daisy May Card

Happy Monday,
It's another new week and it's Halloween time at Cute Daisy May!
I decided to use a non Halloween image from Sheet 27 and this is a great advantage of digital stamps.
The original image said "Tooth Fairy" on the bag but with a little work in my editing program I removed the words and replaced them with "Trick or Treat".
As usual I used other challenges to help me create this card and with it being the last week in October there were a lot with very similar themes. I managed to find 22!

Tuesday Taggers had "Things that go Bump in the Night!"
Crafty Creations had "All Hallows Eve" as their theme
Stampin For The Weekend wanted a "Haunting Good Time"
Everybody Art
Incy Wincy
Kaboodle Doodles
Creative Inspirations
Stamp with Sarah Kay
Penny's Challenge
Rainbow Lady
Sunflowers and Dragonflies
all had Halloween as their theme
Stamp Something had a Halloween theme too and Linnie from Cute Daisy May is sponsoring there this week so enter both challenges and you have even more of a chance of winning!
Digital Tuesday wanted "Things With Wings"
Cute Card Thursday wanted Candy Corns or any candy/sweet treat theme.
Cuttlebug Challenge had a Halloween theme too and you have to ue their product so I got out my trusty embossing folders!
Handfull of Stamps wanted Layers, with 3 of the same thing layered.
A Spoon Full of Sugar gave me the sketch
Crazy 4 Challenges was getting Geometrical wanting 3 or more of the same shape
Flutterby Wednesday still has an open month as long as your creation has a Fairy or Butterfly on it.
Creative Card Crew wanted Babies or Children
Copic's Colour Challenge wanted us to use G99 Olive, V17 Amethyst and YR68 Orange
My Time To Craft wanted to see Halloween colors too.

I used the fabulous new dp from Basic Grey called Eerie. I cut the block with a labels Nestie.
I embossed some Coredinations cardstock with the Swiss Dots embossing folder and cut it into strips to sit behind the image.
The flowers are from Prima and patterned brads are from the Target $1 spot.

Inside is a poem I wrote a few years ago and I left a space at the bottom for a personal message.

She certainly is a Halloween Cutie!
I'd love to see you join in this weeks challenge at Cute Daisy May!
And be sure to click on my banner at the top of the page to bring up my BLOG CANDY post for a chance to enter!

Happy Halloween - New Fairy Card for Cute Daisy May

Happy Monday!
I hope you had a great weekend!
Ours was busy, what's new?, and to be honest I'm glad for the extra day so I didn't have to jump up out pf bed bright and early.
I have a new card for the challenge at Cute Daisy May and this time the challenge is to use a Fairy on your project.
I got to use this fabulous Cinderella Fairy from Sheet 27 and all the image on that collection are super cute!
I've used other challenges to help me create this card.
Paper Play gave me the sketch
Color Dare had a color combo of Always Artichoke, Creamy Caramel, Elegant Eggplant and Pumpkin Pie
Pals Paper Arts had a similar combo of Pefect Plum, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie with the addition of neutrals if you needed them
Flutterby Wednesday wantd to see a Fairy
Creative Card Crew had a Celebration theme
Copic Creations wanted to see Pumpkins
Cuttlebug Challenge had a Halloween theme.
Ildi Co had a recipe of 4 layers (more than that here!), 3 embellishments (I hope ribbon, dew drops and the punched border count) and at least 1 pumpkin!

Cinderella is colored with Copic's and matted on a scalloped Nestie.
The border punch is Apron Lace from Fiskars.
The dpp is Reminisce and the sentiment is from Joanns.

The inside is more dp and a message mat trimmed by a silver Prismacolor pen.

I love her slipper, I wonder where her Prince is with the other one?
I hope you'll grab a fairy stamp and join in the fun over at Cute Daisy May

Freebie Friday At Digital Delights!

Happy Friday,
Wow, another week is almost at it's end but luckily that means that it's time for another freebie over at Digital Delights!
This week it's another super cute Halloween image, this time of Billy and he's dressed as a Devil and he's riding a spider! LOL

I got a sneak peek of him a couple of day ago and had to get working on a card right away as he was too cute for words!
I used the fantastic sketch from Basic Grey Challenges and it gave me an excuse to raid my stash to complete it.
Also Simon Says Stamp had a Halloween theme and so did Cuttlebug Challenge (also a little tip, Wendy is sponsoring this challenge so you could get even more of her wonderful images if you win!)
Dare U2 Digi had the color combo of Yellow, Orange, Black and White and I think he fit's for this challenge too!

Now I'm not saying I'm a hoarder but the black dp and letters are from "Aged and Confused - Vagabond" which was one of Basic Grey's first releases! I have so little of it left but, you know, it has to be used eventually.
The colors are a little different from the regular Halloween color scheme but I think they worked well enough.
The circle accents are from Martha Stewart from last year at Michaels and the orange "pearls" are also Martha Stewart this time from her collection at Walmart.

The inside is a little more of the dp and a message mat.

Isn't Billy a cutie?

So run on over to Digital Delights! right now and grab yourself the freebie while it's there! And I'm love to see what you can do with him so be sure to come back and link to let me see!

Fabulous Design Team News!

Happy Sunday!
I'm sure after 4 months of my blog you've noticed that I love to combine challenges.
And you may have seen that I was invited to be a Guest Designer at Pile It On for October.
Well I got super news this week, Vicki and Dalis asked me to join the team full time!
So today is my first project as a team member and I'm so excited to share it with you all!
As you may know Pile It On was designed as a challenge blog with a difference. Each Sunday they give you a challenge and to enter your project you have to combine it with at least one other challenge from another blog. This is absolutely perfect for me as combining is getting to be an obsession that I don't want a cure from!

Today the Pile It On challenge is Birthdays and the team got to work with the wonderful digital images from the talented Tim Hambo at Hambo Stamps
As well as the PIO challenge I added few more.
The sketch came from Just Christmas and Birthday Cards
Creative Card Crew have a color combo of Pink, Black and White, If the Shoe Fits Scrap it! had the same color combo with the addition of hearts andCopic Creations wanted your favorite color combo so that was easy!
The Pink Elephant had a recipe of 1 ribbon, 2 squares and something that sparkles and LaLa Land Crafts wanted Bling so more sparkle!
Finally The Cuttlebug Spot are celebrating their birthday this month so all month they want Birthday themed projects.

I colored this wonderful image with Copic's and it is called And then I woke up and I thought would be great for a girlfriends birthday as who doesn't like cupcakes on their birthday?
The dp is The Paper Studio from Hobby Lobby, the border punch is Threading Water from Fiskars and the ribbon is Offray. The circle sentiment is 7 Gypsies. I can't remember where the heart rhinestones came from.

The inside is more of the super dp and an additional sentiment along with a message block.

I added Diamond Stickles to the cupcakes and they look almost too good to eat!
I'm so happy to be able to share this great news with you and be sure to check out Pile it On each Sunday and join the fun!
I'll be doing projects with them every other week but I'm sure on my "off" weeks I'll be playing along like the rest of you!
Have a great rest of your weekend.
Katie
