All I Want for (a Pink) Christmas....Is You!

It's time for a super sweet Christmas card and this time it's not a Christmas image but I just love it.
And although I really like the traditional colors for Christmas I must admit to loving last years Basic Grey image Eskimo Kisses and the pink theme that runs through it.

Challenges:
Crafty Creations - Buttons
Creative Cottage - Someone Special at Christmas
Paper Playtime - PS I Love You
Lollipop Crafts - Girlie
Crafty Emma's - Pink
Polly Craft - A Glittery Christmas
Creative Inspirations - A Pink Christmas
Thrilling Thursday - Anything Goes Christmas Theme
The Stampman - Christmas
Scrapbook Sisters - Christmas
Creative Inspirations - Christmas or Winter
Anything Goes - Embossing (I embossed the image before coloring as I used Versafine ink that smudges with Copic's unless embossed)
Passionately Artistic - Linky Party (link any and all your projects)
Fresh Brewed - 2 of More Patterned Papers
The Paper Variety - 1 color of mist/Paint, 2 flowers or chipboard pieces and 3 patterned papers
Cute Card Thursday - Anything Goes
Hanna and Friends - Card with "Inner Life" (decorate the inside too)
Crafty Ann's - Non Traditional Christmas Colors
No Time To Stamp - Non Traditional Christmas Colors
Stamps R Us - Sparkle and Scallops
The Secret Crafter - Sparkle and Shine
Paper Romance - Everything But The Kitchen Sink (lots of everything!)
My Partner in Crafting Crime - Marker Madness
Stamping With The Dragon - Inspired by a Holiday Song (the title)
Incy Wincy - Rock On (music inspired)
Crafts and Me - Glitter
The Crafty Pad - Christmas Sparkle
Crafty Purple Frog - Sparkle
One Stitch At A Time - Favorite Colors (I love coloring with Pinks)
Sentimental Sundays - Childhood

Card Recipe:
Image - Sweet Dreams by Penny Johnson
Paper - DCWV Eskimo Kisses
Medium - Copic Markers
Die Cut - Beaded Circles by Spellbinders
Flowers - Wild Orchid Crafts
Border Punch - French Scroll by Martha Stewart
Mist - Homemade with Viva Precious Metal Color Paint in Mother of Pearl
Glitter - Glamor Dust

I see many of my English cardmaking friends using Glamour Dust on their cards and although Decor are an American company you don't see it in the big box stores very often, so it was wonderful to see it in Hobby Lobby in the Christmas department.
I used Elmers glue pen under the the glitter and it worked wonderfully. I only have the Crystal and the Gold but I'm sure I'll be using them both on many cards before Christmas comes :)

Cooking It Up #37 - I'm Hungry for a Sentimental Tag!

It's time for another recipe at Cooking It Up With Katie and this week we have one of one super regular sponsors...Robyn's Fetish

This weeks ingredients should help with a few Holiday cards and gifts!

Feature a Food or Beverage
Add a Tag or two
And finish it off with a Sentiment

Challenges:
If The Shoe Fits Blue
Daring Cardmakers - Topaz (my birth stone)
No Time To Stamp - Tags
Reasonable Ribbon - Winter with Blue, White and Silver
Thoughtful Thursdays - J is for...Jewels
Totally Stampalicious - I've Got The Blues
Thrilling Thursday - Out of The Box (try something different)
Crafty Purple Frog - Sparkle
Belli Challenge - Something Old (the paper), Something New (the image), Something Borrowed (the idea for the project), Something Blue (the color!)
Little Red Wagon - Something in 3's (made 3 of them, used 3 rhinestones on each, used 3 colors)

I chose to make a Hot Cocoa holder

Project Recipe:
Image - Hot Cocoa by Robyn's Fetish
Paper - Imagine That (Walmart)
Metallic Cardstock - American Crafts
Ribbons - Hobby Lobby
Medium - Copic Markers
Rhinestones - Michaels $1 spot
Paint - Puffy by Tulip
Button Brad - Making Memories
Sentiment - Printed

The whole concept of the holder is not mine, I found it on a favorite technique blog Cardz TV.
It is super simple to make and I'm making them as teachers gifts for the Holidays and they are very quick and easy.
I used Puffy Paint (heated up with a heat gun) as I love the texture it gives and it is so inexpensive and easy to find (mine was from Walmart!) and lasts so much longer than the "Snow Pens" that are in the Scrapbook stores!
I hope you've liked my project today and be sure to come along and play with us at Cooking It Up With Katie this week!

Challenge #13 at Cooking It Up!

Happy Wednesday!
It's time for another challenge over at my Cooking It Up With Katie card recipe blog.

This weeks recipe is:

Use some fabric (ribbon doesn't count)
Add your favorite technique and tell us what it is
Tear an edge or use deco scissors

Remember the challenge includes all of the above and anything else you want to add.

A few challenges helped me too:

Friday Sketchers had a great Sketch
Paper Cutz had an Anything Goes theme
Fussy and Fancy want Green
Incy Wincy want at least 1/3rd Green
Cuttlebug Blog want Green and use of CB (I used mine to cut my Nestie)
Magnolia Stamp Lovers want to see a Die Cut
Cleary I Stamp want you to Think Green
Stamp Something want Green and Cream
Raise The Bar want you to Go Green
Colour Create had the combo of Mint, Chocolate and Cream
No Time To Stamp wanted Green, Pink and Brown
Crafty Calendar wanted Flowers
Creative Cottage also wants Flowers

Card Recipe:
Image - Tilda with Teddy Bear from Magnolia-licious
Paper - K & Co
Medium - Copic Markers
Fabric - Unknown
Brads - The Paper Studio
Sentiment - Studio G for Michaels

I tore the background strip behind Tilda, sewed the fabric flowers (my new favorite thing) and I slightly distressed and inked the edges which is a favorite technique of mine.
I tried to do the Distress Ink coloring look with my Copic's ala Suzanne Dean and although I followed her You Tube video I think I'll need to practise a little more but I really like how this Tilda turned out.

I hope you've liked my little Tilda and that you'll join me over at Cooking It Up With Katie

Happy Valentines Day!
I hope you are having a wonderful romantic day!

Raise The Bar had a Be Mine Forever challenge where they wanted you to use a product/stamp/item that you'd never give up
Sassy Susie wants Hearts and Flowers
Fun With Shapes want Lilac, Green and White
Humblepie want to see you use your Dies
No Time to Stamp wanted Purple and Green
Allsorts had a your choice 3,2,1 recipe so I have a 3 part sentiment, 2 dp and 1 image
Pile It On had a "Let Us See Your Flowers" theme
Magnolia Down Under wanted Buttons, Bows and Flowers, Tilda has buttons on her shirt, bows in her hair and there are flowers on the card!

Treehouse- Red, Pink and White

It's Thursday and time for a new challenge at Treehouse Stamps.
Our featured team member this week is none other than Anne Harmon and you'll see from her blog title that she was the perfect one for this challenge!

Allsorts had a super sketch
365 Cards Day 336 had the 3 S's, Stripes, Square and Spring
Lexi's wanted Valentines and I designed this to be a Valentine for a friend
Magical Crafts wanted Valentines too
Paper Sundaes wanted a Valentine too
Alota Rubber Stamps wanted Red, Pink and Vanilla
No Time To Stamp had a Bleeding Hearts them where they wanted to see Red and Hearts

I know I used the Tulips last week but I couldn't resist coloring them again, this time in vibrant red.
I see the set is on sale this week so it would be a great time to buy.
I used my Copic's and then airbrushed around the image to soften the white background.
The dp is just from my stash and the border punch is Martha Stewart.

Inside is more dp and a message mat.

Don't they make you think of Spring? Soon the warmer days will be here.
I hope you enjoyed this breath of Spring Air.

Costume? What Costume?

Happy Saturday!
Yeah it's the weekend and we have a super busy one planned!
Nathan is going a Boy Scout Merit Badge College, Georgia has a Junior Girl Scout meeting and then she has a birthday party with a movie and a sleepover to go to.
Then Nathan has a poll party with more Scouts tomorrow!
Hopefully it will be quieter by Monday!

Now on to today's card. I'll admit that this is one of my favorite cards I've done and I think it's because I'm at that "Mommy Stage" where clothes and attitude are big issues ;)
Of course I had to add a few challenges to the card or it just wouldn't be me!
Creative Inspirations started me off with a great sketch with the addition of brads or eyelets, this time they are sponsored by Paper Angels
No Time To Stamp wanted to see the Halloween theme.
Creative Inspirations Challenge had the color combo of Lilac/Purple and Grey and these are two of my favorite colors to color with. Plus it gave me the excuse to color more black hair!
Finally Paper Blooms , Gingersnap Creations and How Much Is Too Much all wanted a little Bling Bling!

This fabulous image of Cherry can be found at Polly Craft and I just love her! She was an absolute delight to color and I added just a little sparkle to soften her "hard edges" enough.
The papers are just from my stash and I printed the title in Burton's Nightmare again as I love it for Halloween projects.

The inside is just more dp and a message mat.

She may think she's tough but I still think she's cute!
I hope you like her as much as I do.
Have a great weekend!

Something a little different today - Another new Lily Boo image

Hi Everyone, I hope you had a great weekend!
Ours was busy but fun and this morning the house seems very quiet as Georgia and Nathan have gone back to school.....
So I decided to do something for the littlest one who is still at home who turned 3 earlier this month and make him a plaque for his bedroom door.
Of course I can't make anything that doesn't cover challenges and with this one I managed 5 which is low for me but it wasn't as easy as when I do a card :)
Also it shows another of the wonderful Lily Boo boy images that I have the greatest pleasure working with and I highly recommend popping over and buying a sheet to play with ;)
Pile It On had "Good things comes in 3's" as their theme and I did dewdrops in rows of 3's and used the polka dot ribbon 3 times too
The Pink Elephant gave me the sketch which I tweaked just slightly to make it fit on the wooden plaque
Paper Blooms wanted a piece of Home Decor
Truly Scrumptious wanted us to make "Anthing but a card"
and finally
No Time to Stamp wanted us to use Polka Dots which I did with the dp and the ribbon.

The image was from Lily Boo's Boy Circle Collection and I colored him with my Copic's.
The wooden plaque was from Hobby Lobby and I painted it with Apple BArrel paint in Carolina Blue. The dp is Making Memories and the sentiment is KI Memories that I got at Joanns.

Doesn't this just make you want to relax?
I'll get it hung on Carter's door soon.
It's hubby's birthday today so I think we may get a quick happy hour drink before dinner! LOL
Have a great Monday.
Katie
