After coloring Bea I added Smooch Illuminate paint to her wings and star and when it had dried I added Liquid Embossing in Glass for shine. I added glaze to her boots too. I love how the paint shines through the glaze. I've had the wooden tile letters for years and although they make for a thicker card (wouldn't put her in an envelope) she's not going anywhere, she's staying with me and so it'll be fine :)
To make this obsession a triple threat be sure to tune back in on Tuesday for another project topped with a Teddy!
Have a great Sunday!

Cute Daisy May - Bright and Cheerful

Happy Monday!
I hope you all had a wonderful and romantic Valentines Day yesterday.
We are turning to Spring and Easter cards next in the card making world and so today's challenge at Cute Daisy May is perfect for those as we would love to see your "Bright and Cheerful" cards.
This weeks challenge is hosted by Avril Ann and you can see her wonderful work on her blog Crafting In The Shed At The Bottom Of The Garden!

Obviously no card of mine would be complete without a list of challenges so here are the ones I found for this one:

Pile It On had a "Let Us See Your Flowers" theme
A Spoonfull of Sugar had a Recipe of 1 pattern paper,1 Embossing,1 Button,1 Ribbon.
Papertake has a sketch
Flourishes wanted an Easel Card
Digital Tuesday was "All About the Animals" and wanted an animal somewhere on your card (I hope chicks count!)
Belli wanted Ribbon
Paper Sundaes wanted A Glittery Spring and as the border stickers, background paper and swirls are glittered I think this one counts :)

I used this super image of Daisy from Sheet 166 and it's perfect for your upcoming Spring and Easter cards.
The paper is from The Citrus Stack by DCWV.
The flourish, rick rack and dotted border are Doodlebug stickers.
Flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts.
Button is The Paper Studio.
Embossing folder is Sizzix

I used the button across the top of the message mat as a stopper for this card, it always makes it a little more stable.

Here is Daisy in all her Cheery colors and I hope you like her!
I'd love to see your entries at Cute Daisy May, you could be our winner!

It's time to Pile It On again! - Sending Warm Wishes

Happy Sunday Everyone!
I hope you are having a great weekend and that the Winter isn't taking too much of a toll on you.
I hope I can brighten your day a little with a new card for Pile It On
We have a new challenge for you today and we want to see your "Warm Wishes". This could be a card celebrating Spring or Summer, a Winter card to make you smile or even a card with a steaming hot cup of cocoa on it!
You chose, just come back and show us all your interpretation of it and you could be this weeks winner!

As you may know Pile It On was born out of a desire to "Pile On" as many challenges as possible so this one has a few for you to see!

Ooh La La wanted you to "Create a Scene"
Flourishes want a Scene too
The Pink Elephant had a great sketch that I turned a 1/4 turn
Practical Scrappers had an Embossing challenge and so did Crafty Ann
Creative Card Crew want you to "Punch It" and so do Simon Says Stamp
Little Red Wagon want to see Snowflakes
Sassy Susie wanted a Card for a Boy (with an animal option)
Stamp With Sarah Kay wanted a Birthday Card for a Boy
Fab N Funky had a color combo of Blue, Green and White
Gingersnaps wanted Metallics
Double Dutch had a Baby It's Cold Out Here theme

I used this super cute Teddy Bear image from Dustin Pike and colored it with Copic's. I added Puffy Paint for snow to complete the scene.
The papers are Peppermint Forest from Joanns. I cut and nested the image with Nesties.
The border punch on the striped panel is Martha Stewart and the panel was then embossed with a Winter embossing folder.
The punch on the silver border is a new one from EKSuccess.
I printed out the sentiment and raised both the image and sentiment on foam for dimension.

The inside is more dp and a message mat.

A close up of the bears wheeling their good wishes through the snow!

I'd love you to join in so go on create something for us and link it back so we can come and see it!
Good Luck!

Egg-Cellent Card for Delightful Sketches

Happy Thursday,
I'm super excited about todays card.
It features one of the New Releases at Digital Delights and they are all from Fairy Tales!! So, so cute and perfect for all those childrens birthday cards that you have to make.
It's a great sketch this week and I'd love to see you joining in with it at Delightful Sketches

And I got to work with the fabulous new image of Humpty Dumpty!!

I also addd a few more challenges.

Sassy Susie wanted Buttons and Bows
Colour Q had the combo of Ruby Red, Bashful Blue, Sage Shadow, Glorious Green and a Neutral
Jacksonbelle wanted a Christmas Card
Flourishes wanted a Gatefold card and I thought the sketch lent itself very well to this style
One Stop Craft wanted to see a "Fancy Fold"

I printed out Humpty and his wall and colored them with Copic's. Then I cut them out and layered them on a Nestie.
The dp is Colorbok.
I printed out the sentiment and cut it with the pinking circle Nestie.

Here you can see how the card opens.

Here is a close up of Humpty on his Wall.
I added a lot of glue to make sure he doesn't fall off! LOL

Let's get Stitchy! - A new Pixie Cottage Challenge

Here is the 3rd and final post for today.
This time at The Pixie Cottage it's a technique challenge and we want to see you Get Stitchy! It doesn't matter whether you get out your machine, thread a needle, grab a pen, stamp a line or even use a rub on, as long as it's a stitch it counts!

Obviously there are a few other challenges that I added along the way :)
Mojo Monday was where I chose the sketch
Artful Inkables want to see Chipboard and so do Belli
Colour Q had a color combo of Bravo Burgundy, Bashful Blue, Old Olive, Always Artichoke and a Neutral. The colors are based on the Figgy Pudding paper by Basic Grey.
Copic's Colour had a combo of E29 Burnt Umber, YR16 Apricot and G99 Olive all of which I used to color the image.
Creative Card Crew wants Favorite Things and one of mine is definitely Basic Grey paper! LOL
Flourishes also had a Christmas theme
PaperTake also had a "Christmas Crackers" theme.

I chose to use the brand new Winter Window by Sandra Hammer that coordinates with the wonderful door you've seen me use before. It is the perfect size for the Holiday Tilda's to stand by but I love the image so much that I wanted to use it on its own.
I color it with Copic's using wnat I learned in class and the fabulous Shadow Tutorial by Marianne Walker to help me with the shading/shadows.
The color scheme was taken from the Figgy Pudding collection by Basic Grey but I don't have any of that and their Dasher collection works just as well :)
The two border punches for the scallops are EK Success and the chipboard letters are We R Memory Keepers.

The inside is more coordinating dp and a ribbon topped message mat.

Here is a close up of the window. I tried to color it to look like there was a light on inside the building and it was casting warm shadows on both the window and the tree outside.

I'd love to see how "Stitchy" you can get so go and create and enter the challenge at
The Pixie Cottage

Paradise Found (in a card?) maybe, maybe not!

Wow is it Friday already?
I don't know about you but this Summer is whizzing by and I can't believe another week is almost over. When you see 10+ weeks of 3 children 24-7 stretching ahead of you it seems like an eternity but this time before we've known it it's almost 1/2 way gone!
It it still so hot here in TX, Wednesday the area broke a record for electric use so I can't bear to think about my utility bill :(
Anyway enough of my ramblings on to todays card.
This one caused my all sorts of headaches.
First I've never done a shaped card before and so I broke out my Wild Card Cricut cart (thanks for the reminder I had it Sharon :)). That sounds easy huh? well it would be but it took me a while to work out how to make it the right size, thank goodness for the "fit to page" option!
Then I needed a sea image. Well I was going to use a lighthouse stamp that I have but it didn't really fit with a shaped card.
So I went on a hunt through my digital site links, luckily I have a folder full of bookmarks from my digi travels.
I ventured over to the land of etsy and found the perfect image but of course I almost messed up my Paypal account in the process (my fault completely) so that was another near miss.
Then I colored the image and decided to cut out the fish, tiny goobers that they are it hurt my fingers. Of course then the pop dots were too big so I had to trim them.
Then I couldn't find a sentiment small enough to fit and you know I can't bear to leave a card "unspoken".
Then I added the dewdrops (thought they looked like bubbles) and glossy accents to the bubbles and the visor, I mounted the image and all was done, yes?...no
I asked my son if it looked "sealike enough" and he said "no Mum it needs more blue all around" (I had only shadowed the bear at that point)
Well once I commited to coloring the whole thing (I don't have an air brush you see) I didn't stop to think I may run out of ink. I struggled and then then this morning I managed to make it look decent enough I think (not all water is crystal clear is it?)
Still with me? I still wasn't finished and so I added the bling just minutes before photographing.
I'm still not completely happy with him but if I don't put him down I'll be a wreck.
So I don't really think he's Paradise Found but he'll have to do!LOL (plus he covers 6 challenges in one which I'll link to after you finally get to see him)

The image is from Doodle Palace and I colored him with my Copic's. Dewdrops from the floral dept and the rhinestones from Michaels $1 spot. The sentiment is Reminisce.

The inside is simple (after everything the front took my me!), the sentiment is another from the same sticker sheet.

I don't know if you can see the Glossy Accents on the bubbles, fish eyes and visor but they are there.

The challenges he covers are:
Flourishes - A feel of the sea
Flourishes Timeless Tuesday - Pop it up!
Scrappy Frogs - Under the sea!
Color Throwdown - Real Red, Tempting Turquoise and Kiwi Kiss
Paper Blooms - Shaped Cards
All Sorts - Shaped Cards

If you got through all my ramblings then well done, pat yourself on the back and go and make yourself a nice cup of tea!
Have a great Friday!
Katie
