Guest Designer at Incy Wincy - Pink and Brown

It's time for another guest card for and this week we have a color combo challenge of Pink and Brown.
This combo is one of my favorites as it leads to a vintage, shabby chic feel to a card and it works so well for girl cards.

How cute is this little bear? It is images like this that remind me of "home" (4500 miles away in England) as a "99" with a Flake was my favorite treat from "Mr Whippy" :)
I hope you like her too.

Happy Birthday - New Card for My Grafico

Happy Wednesday!
This week at My Grafico we got to work with a fabulous set called Arabian Paradise

PaperPlay had a theme of Parlez Vous, any langugage but English on your cards so I used the French for Happy Birthday
Paper Cutz wanted to see Stars
Copic Creations wanted to see Red Hair
Crafty Cardmakers wanted to see you "Stamp Something" whether it was rubber or digital
Digi Kitty wanted to see a Frame
The Pink Elephant had a color challenge of Brown, Yellow, Neutral and a color of your choice.
2 Red Bananas also had a color combo of Red, Orange, Yellow and Brown and you had to use 3 of them.
365 Cards Day 247 had an AD inspiration photo
Basic Grey Challenges also had a photo inspiration

I realized now I've added the photo that the color combo's didn't include green but I hope they'll still let me in!LOL
I used the fabulous "Scarlets Letter" dp from Basic Grey which I thought was a little Arabian in theme and worked well with the image. I printed the dancer on Kraft paper to give a coordinating look with the dp. The "Happy Birthday" title is in French as I thought the dancer looked a little Moroccan and they speak French (as well as Arabic) in Morocco. I used a new border punch from Martha Stewart called Eyelet Lace and I love the delicate look it gives.
The butterflies are from a set I bought last Christmas in England.

The dp inside was slit to allow the message mat to slip in.

So run over to My Grafico to see the sketch and give it a go yourself!

Double, Double Toil and Trouble! New Pixie Cottage card

Happy Thursday Everyone!
Today's card uses a brand new stamp by Sandra Hammer for The Pixie Cottage and it is available to buy right now!
Sandra is such a talented artist and it is wonderful to be able to work with her fabulous images.
The card covers a few challenges too :)

Clean and Simple Stamping gave me the sketch
The Pink Elephant had the color combo of Black, Orange, Purple and White
Die Cuts R Us wanted to see Copic coloring

And finally Scrap and Stamp Saturday wanted you to use a quote and I thought this one from William Shakespeare was perfect.

The purple dp is KMA and the word dp is DCWV.
The pumpkins are from a Studio G $1 set from Michaels. The quote is from 7 Gypsies.

The inside is more dp and a message mat topped with coordinating ribbon.

I hope you liked her and I'm sure she'd look cute gracing your Halloween cards and scrapbook pages.

Fabulous Design Team News!

Happy Sunday!
I'm sure after 4 months of my blog you've noticed that I love to combine challenges.
And you may have seen that I was invited to be a Guest Designer at Pile It On for October.
Well I got super news this week, Vicki and Dalis asked me to join the team full time!
So today is my first project as a team member and I'm so excited to share it with you all!
As you may know Pile It On was designed as a challenge blog with a difference. Each Sunday they give you a challenge and to enter your project you have to combine it with at least one other challenge from another blog. This is absolutely perfect for me as combining is getting to be an obsession that I don't want a cure from!

Today the Pile It On challenge is Birthdays and the team got to work with the wonderful digital images from the talented Tim Hambo at Hambo Stamps
As well as the PIO challenge I added few more.
The sketch came from Just Christmas and Birthday Cards
Creative Card Crew have a color combo of Pink, Black and White, If the Shoe Fits Scrap it! had the same color combo with the addition of hearts andCopic Creations wanted your favorite color combo so that was easy!
The Pink Elephant had a recipe of 1 ribbon, 2 squares and something that sparkles and LaLa Land Crafts wanted Bling so more sparkle!
Finally The Cuttlebug Spot are celebrating their birthday this month so all month they want Birthday themed projects.

I colored this wonderful image with Copic's and it is called And then I woke up and I thought would be great for a girlfriends birthday as who doesn't like cupcakes on their birthday?
The dp is The Paper Studio from Hobby Lobby, the border punch is Threading Water from Fiskars and the ribbon is Offray. The circle sentiment is 7 Gypsies. I can't remember where the heart rhinestones came from.

The inside is more of the super dp and an additional sentiment along with a message block.

I added Diamond Stickles to the cupcakes and they look almost too good to eat!
I'm so happy to be able to share this great news with you and be sure to check out Pile it On each Sunday and join the fun!
I'll be doing projects with them every other week but I'm sure on my "off" weeks I'll be playing along like the rest of you!
Have a great rest of your weekend.

7 Challenges in one (and don't you love it when something goes right?)

Happy Monday everyone!
Back to work for hubby after the long weekend but at least I got another card while he was in charge of the 3 rugrats! LOL
This time the card covers 7 challenges and it feels really good to have it completed (plus I think it's a cutie so that's another bonus :))
The challenges it covers are:
Charisma Cardz - use buttons
Magnolia-licious - Sketch
Dannis Dreams - Flutterby Wednesdays, I used a butterfly bead on my hatpin.
Creative Inspirations - Masking, I love this technique and used it twice to make Tilda look like she was looking out of a window over a window box.
Just Magnolia - Simply Charming, use a charm on your card.
A Spoon Full of Sugar - Summer.
Copic Creations - Brunette hair, this was hard for me as I have the colors for blonde but struggle on the browns even though I'm a brunette myself!

I used the wonderful Tilda Standing with Hairbow Stone Wall and the window box (sorry I couldn't find a link). The dp are Nana's Nursery Baby Boy by DCWV. The border punch is Martha Stewart. The flowers are my favortite part of the card. The paper flowers are Bazzill Basics and I didn't have a larger flower to make the trio look right in the right color. So I went to my jar of white "silk" flowers and found these wonderful polka dotted ones. I grabbed my Copic BV00 Mauve Shadow and colored the petals, it was the perfect color and I was so happy I almost jumped off my chair :) The sentiment is K & Co and I added Diamond stickles to Tilda's wings, bows and flowers to match the glitter on the sentiment. I embossed the green panel with my trusty Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder.
The hatpin was made with items from Walmart and Michaels.

The inside is simple, just a small additional sentiment below the journaling space.

I wanted to give a close up of cute Tilda so you could see the glitter (sorry for the lighting)
I hope you like her and have a great rest of your Monday.

6 Challenges in 1 card!

Happy Hump Day!
There are so many cool challenge blogs around these days that I don't have time to do a card for each one that takes my eye. Well I noticed that many allow you to combine challenges with those from other blogs so today's card makes the most of that.
In fact there is a new blog that actually wants you to combine!
Pile It On gives you a challenge but wants you to use it with as many others as you can :)
So today's card fills the following challenges;
Pile It On - Use 2 Ribbons
Just Magnolia - Paper Piecing
Charisma Cardz - Something Yummy
Copic Creations - Wood
Three Clovers - Paper Piecing
Sketch Saturday - Sketch

It feels so good to have some many crossed off my list!LOL

It was fun to do all the challenges at once and I hope I pulled it off OK.
I used Tilda with Cowberry Muffin and colored her with Copic's and paper pieced her dress and muffin.
The papers are DCMV Nana's Kitchen.

I used some coordinating papers for the inside.
I hope you like her and I hope it inspires you to try and combine some of the wonderful challenges out there in blog land :)
I also wanted to give you a heads up that I sell my cards on eBay and you can see the ones I have right now HERE
Over the Summer I will be listing every Tuesday evening and even if you aren't a buyer it's always fun to take a look as there are cards there that you won't have seen here on my blog as I don't have time to share them all.
Have a happy day!

Happy Go Lucky, another challenge card!

It's a short creating day today with end of school stuff but at least I have a card for the latest challenge at Copic Creations
The challenge this time is for coloring clear or white objects. It was great for me as I had just spent the weekend "You Tubing" and had watched the wonderful Suzanne J Dean and her great tutorials including one of whites!
Since getting my I-Pod Touch I'm logging on to You Tube and watching stuff all the time and for a crafter like me that's just wonderful!

I used Suzanne's techniques to help color the clouds on this cute scene. I used the Picnic Tilda and the Butterfly background. I stamped the images on to the Nestie label and got to coloring. I used B000 for the sky and a combo of B000 and BG10 for the edges of the clouds. My favorite part of this Tilda is the hair, I love coloring the long locks :)

The inside is plain but I loved the papers so much that I just had to add them inside.
The dp is Making Memories Chloes Closet, the flowers are Prima and the sentiment is Pebbles.
Have a happy hump day!

Entering my first challenge!

I've been following challenge blogs for a while now and while I get ideas from them I haven't submitted anything yet.
Well now I have my own blog I have no excuses anymore for not joining in.
So I'm throwing my card in the ring for the Blonde Hair challenge at Copic Creations

I love these Sarah Kay images and this one was fun to color and I hope you like her too. I used one of my favorite punches, Apron Lace, and tried my hand at a hatpin too!
Hope you have a wonderful SUnday!
Katie
